Flashback to the night Ray and Debra first had sex.

After Marie Barone has husband Frank return an anniversary gift that Ray and Debra gave them, Ray and Debra reminisce about the first time they slept together. Debra then decides to go apologize to Marie but Marie refuses to accept her apology when she learns that Debra lied to her in front of a priest.

Debra turns down Ray for sex again, and he makes her sign a pact for a noon time sex escapade the next day. Debra says that in the afternoon the kids will be away on their play-date and Debra would have the time for Ray.

Marie and Debra are totally ignoring each other. Marie returns an old gift to Debra by sending it back via Frank. It was an old porcelain case that Debra gifted them for their 30th marriage anniversary. Marie says that she doesn't like the gift and she never did. Debra gets mad and tears up the pact with Ray as she is in a terrible and pensive mood and Ray cannot sense it. She points out that Ray is incapable of reading her mood even after so many years of being together and reminds him of the first time they were together. Ray admits that he is not good at reading signals.

In the flashback 15 years ago, Debra invites Ray for a candlelight dinner and a movie. Ray's friends Gianni (Jon Manfrellotti) and Bernie (Tom McGowan) think it's an invitation for sex. They ask Ray to check if she has shaved her legs or has enough eggs in the fridge to make both breakfast in the morning. Bernie says that if Debra is into Madonna, then she has a little bit of the wild side. Ray defends Debra by saying that when she is ready, she will let him know.

Ray reaches Debra's apartment and checks her fridge and sees that she is out of eggs, but she has 3 cartons of egg substitute. Debra has shaved her legs, and they start watching a romantic movie together. Debra says that she likes Madonna. Ray has green light on all 3 signs and proceeds to kiss her. Marie had eavesdropped on Ray's conversation with his friends and decides to ruin their evening by barging in with Frank, Robert, Father Hubley and a lasagna. Marie asks Hubley to talk about the 10 commandments. Marie tells Ray that she knows what Ray is planning to do with Debra later that night and tells him that he ought to be ashamed of himself.

Debra realizes the situation when Ray tells Debra why his whole family is intruding on their date. Debra insists that she never planned on having sex with Ray that night. She asks Marie to be frank and open in the future. Father Hubley asks Marie and the whole family to leave and give some privacy to Ray and Debra. Marie tells Debra to wait until her wedding to Ray to have sex and assures Debra that she doesn't like to meddle in Ray's life. After Marie leaves, Debra has sex with Ray.

Remembering this event, Debra tries to patch things up with Marie. She reminds Marie that they could talk things out back then and can surely do the same now. Marie gets mad when she discovers that Ray and Debra had sex fifteen years ago, in spite of her interference, and doesn't accept Debra's apology. Debra yells that the past month of not talking to Marie has been the best month of her life.
