- A young girl gets gang raped by three guys, the girl tells her dad and they hide it from the police because of the shame she feels. so one of her friend's takes revenge.
- The episode begins with a special introduction by John Fegan, in which he states, "Many cases in Homicide carry a message. This one does, plus a warning - a warning to all parents whose families could be struck by the type of crime committed in this case".
Three young thugs, Paul Armstrong (Mal Carmont), Laurie Armstrong (Bruce Thompson) and Ernie Mills (Gary Wastell), are out for some all-night binge drinking. They get into their car and go in search of some female company. They see a local girl that they know, Karen Latimer (Lynette Curran), walking down a deserted street, so they speed towards her and pull her into the car.
Oblivious to Karen's struggles, they drive her to an outlying area that is full of trees and bushes. There, they beat the girl viciously before taking turns to rape her. Later, they dump her at the bottom of a ravine, throw out her clothes and other belongings and drive away.
Karen is able to pull herself together and stagger out of the bush to a main road, where Geoffrey Short (Frank Taylor) is passing by. Seeing her, Short offers Karen a ride back to her home.
Several days later, Short pays a visit to a friend of his family, Detective Rex Fraser (Lex Mitchell) of the Homicide Squad. He tells Fraser about Karen and lets him know that he is wondering how she is. Fraser checks the files, but finds that there is no report of an attack on a young woman.
The police decide to investigate the matter, but they are not able to do much unless Karen comes forward and makes a report. Battered and bruised, Karen has only told one other person about the attack and the pack rape - her father, Tom Latimer (Ben Gabriel). She is afraid of what people might think about her if they hear that she has been raped.
Karen is so scared of going out as a result of the gang rape that she even refuses to see the young man that she has been dating, Graham Dixon (Roger Diss). Tom is in favour of calling the police about the rape, and also mentions to Karen that he would like to kill the guilty trio.
Several more days pass and then one of the three gang rapists, Laurie Armstrong, is found hanging in a shed. The police are called, and the detectives soon rule Laurie's death as a homicide. They bring Paul Armstrong and Ernie Mills in for some intense questioning about possible motives for Laurie's death, but both of them swear that Laurie didn't have any enemies in the world.
When Karen reads about Laurie's murder in the paper, she begins to wonder if her father Tom is seeking revenge on her behalf. Another few days go by and Ernie is also found dead, strung up by a hangman's noose.
Paul then makes a beeline for the police station and comes clean with the detectives about the attack on Karen, although he omits his part in the gang rape from this confession, saying that the rapists were the two men who are now dead. Paul suspects that their killer is Tom.
The Homicide Squad set up a sting operation by having Detective Fraser and Detective Sergeant Frank Bronson (Terry McDermott) taking up residence inside Paul's flat. They sit all through the night waiting for Tom to show up, and early in the morning, their vigil appears to pay off when they hear someone break into the house, but they are surprised to find that it is not Tom but Dixon. He is caught with another piece of rope that has a hangman's knot tied into it, and is charged with the murders of Laurie Armstrong and Ernie Mills.
When Dixon's case goes to trial, Karen decides that she will take to the stand, and there she accuses Paul of participating in both her bashing and the pack rape. Paul gets sentenced to a lengthy term in jail for both of his crimes, and Dixon, who admitted to the two murders, is sentenced to life imprisonment. It turns out that after the pack rape, Dixon had been in the pub when he heard Paul, Laurie and Ernie bragging about what they had done to Karen, and that was the moment when Dixon first made plans to exact his revenge.
