Dana Barron played a high school student in this episode. In reality she was 29 years old.
Ethan Embry and Dana Barron both played Griswold children. Prior to her appearance in this episode Barron had a decade earlier originated Audrey Griswold in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983). Ethan Embry on the other hand would only a few years after this episode go on to be the fourth actor to portray Rusty Griswold in Vegas Vacation (1997).
British actor Roy Dotrice (Dr. Myles Purcell) appeared in three episodes as different characters (S7.E8, S10.E3, S11.E19). Tony award winning Dotrice died in October 2017, age 94.
The song played by Irv Tripler (Richard Minchenberg) on the Piano "Love is Like This", which Jessica says was one of her and Frank's favorites, was an original song composed purely for the show.
