This episode was a continuation from Glen Larson's earlier TV show of the same name in the mid-80s. The late Simon McCorkindale reprises his original role as the shape-changing Professor Chase in what is a much darker episode than the original TV series.
A second season episode featured Simon MacCorkindale playing Professor Jonathan Chase, his character from Manimal (1983). Both shows were produced by Glen A. Larson.
