  Wishbone : I know. She gone?

  Gil Favor : Get some shovels. Have Mushy help you. All of you, mount up.

• Hannah Haley : You don't know what to make of me, do you?

  Gil Favor : [They kiss but Gil breaks away]  All I know is that I made some rules for my men. I've gotta live by them too.

  Hannah Haley : Well, I guess that's that.

• Joe Blaney : You looking for trouble?

  Gil Favor : Understand you're fixing to make a crossing.

  Troxel : You think you can stop us?

  Gil Favor : Troxel talking for you?

  Joe Blaney : Why? Does it bother you?

  Gil Favor : I like a man to do his own talking.

  Troxel : I do my own talking, Favor, and I'm telling you, get out of here or I'll burn you down.

  Gil Favor : You can try it. But this time it has to be out in the open.

  Troxel : I can do it anywhere.
