Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake
- Max Regnery: [about Veronica] You definitely owe her an apology.
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: We weren't going through her stuff.
- Carole Hanson: Not really.
- Max Regnery: [sees Veronica in Prancer's stall] Aha. There you are. Stevie and Carole have something they... want to say.
- [sees that Veronica is hiding something behind her back and forces her to reveal it. The stuff Veronica is hiding is a bowl of oats]
- Max Regnery: Did you give her oats?
- Veronica di Angelo: Just as a treat.
- Max Regnery: You know you're not supposed to give her anything!
- Veronica di Angelo: But she was hungry!
- Max Regnery: You gave her oats to boost her energy.
- Veronica di Angelo: Well... uh, I thought it might make her feel better.
- Max Regnery: Red explained the feed schedule very carefully. You're suspended from lessons until further notice.
- Veronica di Angelo: What? You can't do that!
- Max Regnery: Just watch me. And if you're lucky, I might, just might, let you ride Patch again.
- Lisa Atwood: [she and Phil return from the woods in a rush] Max! Max! It's Prancer! She's been poisoned!
- Carole Hanson: [about Veronica] She's still around. There's her coat and bag.
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: She's probably drooling over that friend of Red's.
- Carole Hanson: There's probably lots of evidence in that bag. But we can't just go through her stuff.
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: You're right.
- [they start searching Veronica's bag]
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: Aha! This proves she's been torturing Prancer.
- [Max discreetly enters]
- Carole Hanson: With an eyelash curler?
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: She could be.
- Carole Hanson: All it proves is that Veronica is vain.
- Max Regnery: What are you girls doing going through Veronica's things?
- Dr. Judy Barker: [examining Prancer after she ate some oledander] A little distended. Nothing really serious. Eyes are a bit glassy.
- [checks Prancer's temperature]
- Dr. Judy Barker: Hmm. Temperature is pretty normal. Well, Prancer didn't eat very much, so, uh... I'd say she'll be all right in about 24 hours.
- Lisa Atwood: Thanks, Dr. Judy.
- Carole Hanson: I knew it wasn't your riding.
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: We took Prancer up to the quarry after your first lesson.
- Carole Hanson: She ate the oleander and was sick the next day.
- Lisa Atwood: And I didn't take her up that day.
- Carole Hanson: So by the time Veronica rode her, she was fine.
- Dr. Judy Barker: Well, congratulations to whoever knew that oleander was poisonous.
- Stephanie 'Stevie' Lake: Thanks, Phil.
- [hugs Phil and Carole and Lisa laugh]
