Johnny Carson: Who's one of the worst people you know in Hollywood?
Bette Davis: That I worked with?
Johnny Carson: Or that you wouldn't want to work with again. If, you don't have to comment...
Bette Davis: One million dollars, Faye Dunaway.
[some nervous chuckles from audience]
Bette Davis: Everybody you can put in this chair will tell you exactly the same thing.
[audience laughs]
Johnny Carson: What is it about Ms. Dunaway that makes her...
Bette Davis: Well, she's just totally impossible.
Johnny Carson: Really.
Bette Davis: Yes. I don't think we have time to go into ALL the reasons.
[audience laughs]
Bette Davis: She's just, let's put it, she's just uncooperative.
Johnny Carson: She's not...
Bette Davis: Totally. Ms. Dunaway is for Ms. Dunaway. No, she truly, all seriously, is really, she's very unprofessional.
Johnny Carson: I see.
Bette Davis: Difficult woman.
Johnny Carson: Well you had a reputation at certain times of being kinda tough yourself.
Bette Davis: Oh no, I never had a reputation of THAT kind of thing. No no no.
Johnny Carson: Oh.
Bette Davis: I have never behaved in an unprofessional manner. That includes keeping actors waiting, keeping crews waiting, all those things. No. Never never never.
Johnny Carson: Well you are a true professional. That's for sure.
Bette Davis: Yes, that is really what she isn't.
