When the Mantis was coming into the bedroom, its right elbow was shown to clip through the door frame.

Shaggy identifies the wild reptile as a crocodile. Crocodiles are generally found near bodies of water, not in basements. It's actually an alligator chasing them. Florida is the only place in the world where both of these related animals are native.
