    Warning: Spoilers
Tragically buried in obscurity, this is a film in a category of its own. This imaginative adaptation of the fairy tale is the best I've seen and in many ways gets to the heart of the story's true essence. Transforming it into a confusing world of sexuality, deviance, the unreliability of family, and generational conflict make this a thought-provoking coming-of-age tale.

It's nightmarish quality from the grotesque monster to the brutal beating suffered by the titular son to the mysteriously hefty-yet-starving stepmother makes it a film no one will ever forget. At about 50 minutes, this no-expenses-saved spectacle is one for a modern audience who cares little for format norms. From the beginning to the end, it is an unbelievable journey in its scenery, music, costumes, and performance not to be missed by and fan of The Room.
