Temperance Brennan
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: [after Bones pulls out her gun] You know, I could have the Bureau pull your license.
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Yeah, and I could assign Zack as your forensic Anthropologist.
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Yeah, it's pretty big, right. Bigger than the one you have.
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: Excuse me, it's not the size that matters. It's how you *use* it.
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Well, I think size is pretty important.
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: The point is you shouldn't have a gun in the first place.
- Angela Montenegro: If you do have one, bigger is always better.
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: [pointing her weapon at Epps as Booth arrives] You won't let me shoot him, will you?
- Jack Hodgins: I'll tell you this, if Epps comes near Angela, I'll kill him.
- Zack Addy: What about the rest of us?
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Everyone will be fine, Cam increased security.
- Jack Hodgins: And you have the big gun. Hey tough to keep that one a secret, beautiful woman with a weapon, very Guns & Ammo summer issue.
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: What's that smell?
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: It's mold. It grows in the fat creases of morbidly obese people.
- Caroline Epps: What is this about? Did you bring me here to make fun of me?
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: I merely stated a fact, Mrs. Epps. You need to lose weight. Obesity also causes diabetes, heart damage, liver failure. Not to mention the wear it puts on your joints.
- Caroline Epps: I have a glandular condition. A little compassion and understanding, that's what I really need.
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Marian Epps is clearly a bad mother.
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: [Chuckles.] You think?
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: But a lot of people have bad mothers and they don't grow up to be serial killers which is why I don't put much stock in psychology.
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: Bones, I don't care how you explain it, all right? The guy, he's an animal. He's got no conscience.
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: I don't know how one draws moral distinctions between killers.
- Special Agent Seeley Booth: Listen, Bones. There are crimes of passion, all right? Crimes committed out of desperation which are usually followed by remorse or acknowledgement of human failing. The key word here is "human."
- Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: The reasons for killing someone are unimportant. It The life that's taken is all that matters.
