'Cloud' on Tomei's horizon
Oscar winner Marisa Tomei has been tapped for the title role of CBS' comedy pilot The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud, lifting the contingency on the project.
Additionally, Camille Guaty and Kate Burton have been tapped to star in Fox's pilot Supreme Courtships; Lucy Punch, Christopher Denham and Geneva Carr have landed leads in Fox's comedy pilot Two Families; Jarrad Paul and Kurt Fuller have joined ABC's comedy pilot See Jane Run; and Holly Robinson Peete has joined ABC's drama pilot Football Wives.
Mae Whitman has joined NBC's drama pilot The Bionic Woman, Mo Collins has come aboard NBC's comedy pilot Wild Life, Reg Rogers has been cast in Fox's drama pilot Them, John Carroll Lynch and Tawny Cypress have been added to Fox's drama pilot K-Ville, and D.B. Woodside has been added to CBS' Viva Laughlin!
Cloud, from ABC TV Studio and CBS Par TV, centers on a brilliant, opinionated writer (Tomei), struggling to deliver the follow-up to her acclaimed first novel, who has an epiphany and tries to recapture her youthful optimism. Jeff Greenstein is the writer/executive producer. Tomei, who co-stars in Wild Hogs, recently wrapped the features Brand Hauser and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. She is repped by CAA and Management 360.
