  • With Samantha Carter now filling the shoes of Elizabeth Weir, there's a return to business for the Atlantis regulars.

This is a satisfying episode with the return of the always-threatening, life-sucking Wraith posing a problem once more.

"Reunion" is a chance for Jason Momoa to demonstrate his acting talents and he delivers a great performance here. Dex is an interesting character and Momoa really makes the most of the script. The early scene with Carter and Dex is an interesting indication of how the series may progress. New characters interacting means new dynamics and Carter's presence will result in changes to the way people operate.

While not really taking the series anywhere new, "Reunion" is a solid episode.

    8 out of 10.

    Warning: Spoilers
I'm rewatching the show. What struck me about this episode is the production values seemed to have stepped up a notch, everything just looked better (lighting, hand held camera for fight scenes). It's also a great episode because of Jason Momoa's performance. This reminded me of Season 3 episode 3 Sateda, which again had a brilliant performance by Momoa.

The final fight scene with his fellow country-men is wonderfully choreographed and so sad at the same time. The scene also made me realise that Momoa would have been great in Avatar, the way he started the fight by tapping his thighs ala All Black dance was very Naavi! James Cameron missed a trick there!
