Summaries

  • Cain, having killed his brother, Abel, plots with Kampher to destroy the people of Rome and, soon after, the world. Sister Esther mourns beside a grave of Abel, when there's an attack on Albion. Virgil tells Esther that she's the Star of Hope, the one who is to lead Albion and the world to peace.
  • Sister Esther mourns over and blames herself for the death of Father Abel. Cardinal Sforza goes to Lilith Sahl's coffin and takes from it a vial containing a green liquid, which she gives to Father Tres, who then leaves on an airship bound for Londinium. Virgil seals the Ghetto to protect its residents and an old spacecraft from the Rosenkreuz Orden and then leaves to find a "star." Meanwhile, Isaak arrives over Londinium in an airship and begins to decimate the city as Cain makes plans to merge with Abel's body. Virgil goes to the church where Abel's body is and informs Esther that she is the true heir to the throne of Albion, the secret daughter of Queen Brigitte II's assassinated son. Although she at first continues to believe herself to be unable to do anything, Esther eventually musters her strength and moves to calm a mob outside the palace; it is revealed that Esther is the "Star of Hope" who will lead the people as the next queen of Albion. Elsewhere, Fathers Leon, William, and Hugue attempt to destroy Isaak's airship, but its defenses prove too strong for them to overcome, even withstanding a blast from the Iron Maiden after Sister Kate Scott arrives and has the airship open fire.

Synopsis

  • [NOTE: This is the next to last episode in the "Trinity Blood" saga. For it to make sense, something must be said about Abel's background. This information is from the books and mangas. It is not brought out in the film series, a serious omission that makes it hard to understand the last two episodes. Abel is one of four test tube babies, Seth, Cain, and Lilith being the other three, who were created 1,000 years ago for the Mars Colonization Project. Their bodies were infused with Krusnik nanomachines, which is where they obtain their great powers. Lilith was the prototype, Seth is the youngest, and Cain is the strongest. Abel hated humans for turning him Krusnik, and he, Seth, and Cain fought alongside the Methusalehs against the Terrans during the Armageddon, while Lilith tried to convince her siblings that hatred for humans was wrong. To silence her, Cain killed Lilith. When the Nightroad siblings came to Earth, Abel and Seth tried to kill Cain by pushing him out of the spaceship. His body burned to ash in the atmosphere, but he was able to regenerate, although he sometimes has difficulty holding his body together. Isaak von Kampfer helps him do so, and they banded together to take over the Rosenkreutz Order. Abel spent 900 years mourning Lilith at her crypt in the Vatican then decided to continue her work defending Terrans. It was there that he met Caterina Sforza and joined A.X. Abel rues his slaughter of humans during the Armageddon, and these are the "sins" that he refers to from time to time.]

When news of Abel's death reaches the Vatican, Caterina decides to take a desperate move in an attempt to save him. She removes the Krusnik nanomachines from Lilith's crypt, and she and Tres take them to Albion. Londineum is in a state of panic. Izaak von Kampfer has launched an attack on the city. Attempts to destroy the Rosenkreutz airship have proven futile. Virgil has sealed the Ghetto in order to prevent any further infiltration by the Rosenkreutz.

Virgil decides that he can wait no longer. Albion needs "the Star" to guide them. He goes to Abel's tomb where Esther is mourning and forces her to listen to him. Esther is "the Star," he tells her, the rightful heir to the throne of Albion. Fifteen years ago, when Crown Prince Gilbert was worried that his life was in danger, he sent his infant daughter to live in Europe. That daughter was Esther. Crown Princess Esther's guidance is now desperately needed.

Esther is airlifted to the roof of the AUF where all of Londineum has gathered. "I am Sister Esther Blanchett," she says. "I was dispatched here by the Vatican. Citizens of Londineum, please, calm yourselves. Look at us, panicking in the streets committing violence amongst ourselves. Don't you see? That's exactly what our attackers want us to do. This world is on the eve of destruction by those who feel we are the enemy. They want to deceive us. They want us to hate and fight and destroy one another. But the emotions that cause these actions are in ourselves. They are in our hearts. These people deviously manipulate our feelings and guide us into being divided. This attack is nothing more than one of their malicious plans. So, everyone, don't let your hearts be shaken. Be strong and stand against them. Never forget the feelings we have for one another."
