The term "dead air" is used primarily in broadcasting, be it radio or television, and it defines any amount of time where nothing goes out over the air unintentionally, like silence on radio or a black screen on television. Dead air is considered a broadcaster's worst nightmare, as it eats up precious advertising time.

This film is a variant on the "zombie" theme used in so many movies. Patricia Tallman, who plays one of the main character's co-workers, was in the remake of the zombie classic, "Night of the Living Dead" 1990, playing the role of "Barbara."
Corbin Bernsen (Dr. F.) who stars in, produced and directed this film also co-starred alongside Susan Ruttan (Maggie) for several seasons of the TV series "L.A. Law". Furthermore, Patricia Tillman (Lucy) and Bill Mosley (Logan) also co-starred in the 1990 remake of "Night of the Living Dead" as brother and sister (Barbara and Johnnie).
