So, Nickelodeon decided to grab some cash by making a show out of a song that only little kids under the age of 6 like, I'm Reviewing about a show that's directed to kids, but i just dont like this. The animation looks like Breadwinners, The Song is Annoying. And I'm betting that this Show won't last until its 1st or 2nd season. Painfully Abhorrent. A good thing i can find is probably the background colors, they look attractive for little kids. But not much that. 2/10

OK so I'm not the age demographic for this show. But why does this exist? You could've made something else but no. They had a make this. Also i dont watch y rated shows anymore but when u saw this I immediately came here and saw these ratings. Overall kids Will like it. But i dont.
  • My 6,4 and 3 year old started watching this and lost interest during the 1st episode.

I asked why they didn't like it, they said just that it was boring.

So what's mean to a child, boring?

I gather from what I saw, its unnecessarily loud, and have the basic formula that many Nick shows use ... so yes boring.

There is absolutely no creativity here.

Then you go onto the voice actors, other than Daddy Shark they are all missing their mark.. did the director not notice this.

Stay away from this lame cartoon.
  • A couple of years back, my sis took me to spend a night or two at her place. On the way, she asked me to play a YouTube video of the song "Baby Shark" on my iPhone. When I asked her where she heard the song, she told me she heard of it at a school program.

Upon seeing that YouTube video, I thought it was just another video of a song aimed at children. This was until I heard the news about the video generating more than a billion views. The song went as far to spawn merchandise, and even a TV show which I am reviewing here.

The Nickelodeon show featuring the Baby Shark character was announced about a year ago. After that, screenshots of the show began appearing in ads in the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels. Some time after that, short music videos started showing at around Halloween. This time, the first episode of the series, which is a Christmas special, is aired. As to what I can say about the show, I find it a mixed bag.

Unlike most animated shows today which are in CGI, Baby Shark's Big Show looks like it's in traditional animation. To be honest, I'm fine with traditional animation as that type of cartoon was something I grew up with. Another pleasant aspect is that all five sharks mentioned in the hit song are shown already in the first episode. But if there's anything that gets me kinda unimpressed, it's in the voice, particularly that of the title character. True, Baby Shark sounds pretty expressive, but he sounds more like an adolescent girl than a lad, therefore I'm not sure this output fits his character.

While I appreciate the cute look of the show and Baby Shark himself, I can't say that I feel the same way about how the title character sounds. With that said, I recommend this series only to die-hard Baby Shark fans.

This show has a LOT of wasted potential. This show has some funny moments, but the show has an overabundance of telling you it's about baby shark. It's an obvious cashgrab, but not as painfully bad as ryans mystery playdate. This show has some good bops too, and some actors/actresses with musical talent too. The main character falls in nick jr's most overused trope, a protagonist who is kind of a jerk. This show reminded me of The Backyardigans, but the show's charm and beauty stripped away for a CASHGRAB. Why not just reboot the show itself? It also had alot of unnecessary things that didn't make sense (why is baby shark's last name brooklyn?). Overall this show had a lot of wasted potential, but this show isn't the worst.
  • I mean the animationnis good but, this feels like a cash grab. I mean, "A Baby Shark Show"? Who asked for this? Baby Shark ahould stay as a song, but never be turned into a tv series.

The worst song of all time doesn't deserve a TV show and I hope this show should get cancelled after Season 1.

Well This Is Show It's For Korean But On Us They Aired On Nickelodeon But Pinkfong Did It Because He Used Created By The Owner
  • When I learned that a TV series based on a highly popular children's song was going to air, I was sorta looking forward to it. But upon seeing the ads and reading some news article, I was disappointed that this show goes against tradition. I wish the studio picked a boy instead of a drag king for the title protagonist. While I have fandom for animated shows, I'll never in my life watch this insulting cash grab.
  • All those negative reviews complaining about a show aimed at toddlers for being "too childish" are hilarious.

Remind me a lot of the people who hated Dora, Barney, Peppa Pig and Caillou back then.
  • There are so many great things about this show! Starting with the extremely diverse cast and the very relevant cultural themes. For a show that isn't overtly educational, it really tackles some difficult themes, like adoption, racism, and protesting (plus, many others). It even highlights an LGBTQ family. I am SO proud to have a son that loves this show. I'm so happy that his generation has such great representation for diversity! And let's not forget, every episode has a new song. While not every song can be a winner, some of them are really great! My entire household sings some of the better songs regularly! This show is cute, fun, bold and captivating to young audiences. It's my family's favorite young children's cartoon.
  • I remember when this show was greenlit in 2019, and I was extremely angry because Nick Jr was essentially selling out, plus I personally find the Baby Shark song to be incredibly annoying.

The fact that the Breadwinners creators are working on the show (Breadwinners is one of the most hated Nickelodeon shows ever) lowered my expectations, and I'll be honest, I went into this show expecting to hate it and I was already prepared to dub it the worst kids cartoon of 2020 (however, Mighty Express took that spot). However, it was actually....kinda entertaining?

The theme tune uses the classic Baby Shark song and revamps it a little bit, so it's kinda better than the original show. The animation is colorful, bouncy, and expressive. Some of the writing and jokes were clever, and for a second, I forgot I was watching a preschool show.

As another bonus, the show doesn't have any of the fart or butt jokes that made Breadwinners so hated. One thing I appreciate is that Brooklyn (Baby Shark) is a flawed protagonist. She isn't perfect, but she's not a brat or bully like a certain bald child, and she overcomes her challenges and obstacles in a relatable way for kids.

I really do think that society was evolved past the need for perfect protagonists who can do no wrong, and Brooklyn proves that it is possible to create a flawed protagonist without alienating your target audience.

I am sure young kids will like it, but if parents are sick of the Baby Shark song, they probably won't. Also, the show isn't all that educational either, but I have lived through the Paw Patrol era of Nick Jr, so it's kinda foolish to go in and expect something that will enrich your kid's mind at this point (shows like Blue's Clues and Santiago are exceptions)
  • This show isnt horrible, not the least. Is it amazing? No. Cocomelon is way more annoying. Baby Shark meets Spongebob is basically this show. It's ok, my daughter loves it, she's 3. Did you guys think this was made for you, as an adult? Well it wasn't...hell it's on Nick Jr for cryin out loud! Again not bad, but not Bluey.

This show is better than what it was thought to be. Baby Shark's Big Show has really good music, the backgrounds are pretty, the animation is fluid, and the theme song is catchy. Sadly, this show is overlooked as a cashgrab and ratings will be low since people are like that but this is really cute and myself and my niece sat around and watched it together.
  • If you want to know why it made a big mess for Nick Jr., then you will read these following reasons below:

    1. The "All I Want For Fishmas" episode has a scene where it looks like a ripoff to the same scene from a Yo Gabba Gabba episode that is also Christmas related (Though I like pop-culture from different shows, but dunno)

    2. Baby Shark and William state the obvious in their own episodes and songs, which gets too annoying

    3. Chucks in my opinion looks like some kinds ripoff to Muno and Toodee

    4. The Baby Shark song itself gets overused every episode

    5. The "doo" repeating is annoying.
  • My Toddler loves Youtube Baby Shark - requests it all the time. We watched this because I thought he'd be a fan but was bored pretty quickly.

Me, on the other hand, have some 3 specific reasons as to why I think that might be:

    1. Character design has changed significantly for the worse e.g. Nose connected with white around mouth in this version, gills added, proportions exaggerated and the basic shapes behind the form of the characters not as smoothly rounded. This made the character's significantly less cute.

    2. The voices just didn't suit the characters. The youtube version had a higher more melodic tone (even when not singing) and had a childish quality about it - which appeals more to children. (Even the grandparent sharks in the youtube version sound like a caricature of what an elderly person would sound like. Which is a good thing for helping toddlers distinguish the difference in age.)

    3. The colours aren't vivid enough in the Nick version. Why would you desaturate colours for a show aimed at young children? The brighter the colours, the more appealing to toddlers.

Honestly, if the 3 things above were fixed, it would hold the attention of my toddler. To hold my attention I'd like a better story but the plot isn't doesn't hold much weight in comparison to the visuals and sound for my toddler.
  • This is the worst show in my entire life!!! Everyone hates this! Here are the people who hates this

Me, Kuromi and Baku from Onegai My Melody, All the characters from the Moomins, All the characters from Doraemon, All the the Pretty Cures, All the characters from Anpanman, all the characters from Line Town, all the characters from LoliRock, all the characters from Sailor Moon, all the characters from Pusheen and the rest of the shows I love! We all hate it!

    Here's who likes this show

All the characters from Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go, all the characters from Barney and Friends, all the characters from Peppa Pig, all the characters from BabyBus, All the characters from the BabyFirst channel and the rest of the shows I hate like it too. They love this show but me and my friends hate it!

Me and my friends and the characters from the shows I like will never love this show!

I don't like Baby Shark!! Why: For having 10 billion views, have an annoying song, and more!! You should hate this show as well!! And I hate it as well!! And Pinkfong is also garbage because they have annoying baby songs!
  • Baby shark was really big back in 2019. So big that it became annoying to hear even a note of it. But when I heard that they were producing a show on it, I was like "oh no, this can't be". But after checking it out, it's honestly a pretty wholesome show and feels like a Family Guy for preschoolers. But then again, I'm not even close to the show's demographic and I personally think that a preschooler would enjoy it! Hopefully it will put PAW Patrol into it's grave.

What the hell is this , what's that coming over the hill, is this the worst show is this the worst. It's created by Nickelodeon plus this show is nothing but a Preeschool version of The Amazing World Of Gumball which was way better than this. But without the same charm and intelligence.

Baby Shark's Big Show! Is a new animated series where Baby Shark and his best friend William have fun adventures. Have fun with Baby Shark and William!

Baby Shark's Big Show! Extended from Pinkfong's 'Baby Shark', which are childish songs about Baby Shark and "Baby Shark, doo doo doo doo..." songs or songs with similar lyrics.

Baby Shark's Big Show! Is a combination between entertainment and songs.

Good qualities: The songs are good and are catchy, and they appear to put more effort on them than the Pinkfong's 'Baby Shark' ones.

Their songs almost doesn't use the 'doo doo doo' making them less repetitive, unlike Pinkfong's 'Baby Shark'.

The characters look pretty beautiful, the perfect characters for children.

Baby Shark's voice in Latin Spanish dub sounds pretty good, I hope the English version does the same.

The characters are shiny, as they "reflect" the light, which makes them seem with relief, however, it disappears in dark areas.

The characters have outlines, making them look clear on SD TV.

This show teaches children how to make things at home, encourages children to be themselves, and much more.

The backgrounds look very beautiful and smooth, and houses have decorations according to the fish that live in them. E.g. Baby Shark's house is decorated with sharp teeth, fins, bites, etc.

The show has some realism, when a character moves, bubble trails appear.

Baby Shark says "I can do it", which encourages children to conquer their fears.

This show teaches good things like working together, helping each other, not trying to imitate others in order to win something.

Baby Shark's parents let William sleep in his room, which indicates generosity.

Baby Shark and his friends defeat villains without harming them, which is ok because both end up happy.

Neutral qualities: There exists a "special water" which basically is water with more density that behaves exactly like the water in real life.

Bad qualities : This section is where spoilers begin. Please be careful.

Baby Shark doesn't seem to behave like a child, instead, he does things only adults or fish with knowledge can do, like impersonating the mayor in 'Baby mayor'.

I think Baby Shark's ability (super strength) is exaggerated for a baby shark.

The writters/producers should put more effort on some episodes like S1 E12 B "The Wavey Jones' Locker", whose idea is basically Baby Shark with the help of William looking for his pearl microphone just to sing karaoke at Wavey Jones' locker, and the song is catchy like all their songs.

Recommendations: Add missing characters such as Hammerhead Shark, Sawtooth Shark, the friends of Baby Shark Brooklyn on Pinkfong's 'Baby Shark'.

I'm not good rating the voices of characters in english because I actually speak spanish, and most voices sound "feminine" for me, but I think Baby Shark's voice needs to be improved a bit because the voice doesn't seems to fit for a 'baby shark', high pitching it a bit should fix this.

Baby Shark's Big Show! Is a good show for children and teaches good things to them and has good and catchy songs.
  • Is it a total Pinkfong cash grab? Yes, but what kids franchise isn't? Fist couple episodes were less then average but my kiddo and I have stuck through it and it's been getting much better. Positive messages and comedy throughout.
  • ITS REALLY ANNOYING OK AND I JUST HATE IT SO FREAKING MUCH THIS SHOW AND THE SONG IS FOR BABIES.
  • I never liked this show and I never will, It ripped off SpongeBob SquarePants, And this show was a trap for Cardi B who had to appear in this, I hope it gets cancelled soon!
  • We first had Ryan's Mystery Playdate, and that was an awful show, then we had HobbyKids Adventures, and that was also an awful show. So, with waning ratings, Nickelodeon greenlit a Baby Shark show. Originally, I wrote this review with early impressions in mind, and I gave it a 3 out of 10. But honestly, my opinion on the show has changed a little, and you know what? It's alright. The music's fine, the animation is OK, the voice acting is good, heck, I even laughed at some of the jokes. Of course, there are some cons, the humor is (sometimes at least, like I said, I laughed at some jokes) not always great, and there was one really stupid thing in the first episode. Baby and a fish named William try to get a tooth out, but they keep struggling. So they, get this, tie an anchor to Baby Shark's tooth, and throw it in a water warp. That's such a dumb idea, and guess what? It worked. What did I expect from a show directed by the masterminds who created Breadwinners? But anyways, the show is passable, and should always be remembered as "The show everybody but me hated on because it was based on an annoying song".
