  • I dont undersatnd the dislike for a 'typical' Czech comedy in this case; it felt like an update of the classic 'Koulovy Blesk' in some respects - the sheer hoplessness of trying to achieve something in the face of paperwork, stubborn and patently corrupt fools, and small-minded pedants. I am not Czech, but have had to attend such meetings, and some of the characters certainly rang true for me. I can't comment on the affectedness of the acting - having watched in czech with english titles, but it certainly didn't grate with me. Overall, I really enjoyed this film and as a toungue-in-cheek morality play I believe it was highly effective!
  • A typical Czech comedy, unfortunately. Although the plot is interesting and it would probably be funny in the theater from which the film was released, everything is absolutely stretched to the point of absurdity. So the comedy ends up being a caricature of itself. The horribly affected Tereza Ramba plays the main role. The only believable character - Jiri Labus.
