Tom, Mike Manning's character, was originally conceived in the 2017 short film as Lucas's father, before being changed into his older brother in the feature version.
The film is a passion project for Kipp, whose idea for the film was inspired by his own childhood and love of monster movies.
The film was shot at Umbra Sound Stages in Newburgh, New York and on location in the Hudson Valley during the Fall of 2019.
