Helluva Boss is a clear example that good animation and stellar voice acting can easily be eclipsed by awful writing and a lack of direction.
Now, I don't have anything against juvenile humor, but it needs to have the right context in order to be funny. This isn't the case, however, because the characters just randomly drop sex jokes and vulgar language without any subtlety nor sensibility whatsoever. As if the writers thought swearing = funny.
What is arguably worse: The series has pretty much discarded its own original premise for a half-assed love story that, most likely, will stay under the rug for the foreseeable future.
Just to give you an idea, if you compare the pilot with the last episode (at the time of this review S2 EP6) you will find little to no connection between the two, except maybe for Blitzø.

It's not even that good. The jokes are so corny. I mean, if you like it, whatever, cool. But it's so boring and it's just not entertaining. The characters are written horribly. Maybe if there were less sex jokes, and more on focusing on the plot, MAYBE it would have been better actually! The sex jokes just throws everything out the window. I don't wanna hear the excuse that "it's just the characters personality" and if that's the case, then why are they all acting the same?? That's boring. Literally MAJORITY (90%) of the characters are always making sex jokes are something about sex. Like ok, whatever, they are in hell. Woohoo. But it's not good for someone who is actually trying to enjoy this show and feels uncomfortable with all that. Not to mention how Vivienne Medrano has a fetish for gay relationships that are terribly written. Jesus Christ.

Do we really need more vulgarity and aggression in this world? It's really not humorous and not a good base for a storyline. You know bad parents are showing this to their children, right? What a shame your wonderful artistic talents are shadowed by the nasty thuggish characters. If you want reach more viewers you need to not offend half of them. Cursing is really not that funny when you use it in every sentence or in front of children. The animation also reminds me of a thuggish version of the 90s cartoon Cow and Chicken by David Feiss. That too pushed the limits a bit more than I thought was necessary, but at least they kept it clean with decent storylines for children and adults.
