Michael Cera and Amy Schumer in Life & Beth (2022)

Trivia

Life & Beth

Edit
There is no mention of John having autism in the first season of "Life & Beth," but Schumer says "he's most likely on the spectrum." The role of John was based on Schumer's real-life husband Chris Fischer, who was diagnosed a few years ago at age 39. The second season actually explores it.
Amy Schumer said Michael Cera was her "dream" castmate.
In writing the role of John, Schumer borrowed "a whole lot" from her real-life husband: farmer, chef, and James Beard Award recipient Chris Fischer, whom she wed in 2018.
Amy Schumer said writing about her trauma offers "therapeutic benefits" and allows her to really process what she went through.
The first words spoken in the show are "it's so easy," which is the tagline of the show's production company, Irony Point.
