  • I hate writing this review, mostly because it leans more to the negative than the positive! First I want to say I'm thankful yall 3 are still together, however, this show NEEDS more...I think y'all need to use more equipment and such. Also, while I appreciate your wanting to debunk things, what y'all seem to finally "hear", most of us watching don't hear anything. I just feel like the interaction, or lack there of, is something that's important and yet doesn't happen.

I much prefer this over Ghost Adventures, that show makes me want stab myself in the eardrums, but if y'all dont make some changes, this show may not make it to another season! If hate to see this show end on a permanent basis, however, the lack of equipment not being used that could be & the overall drag of the show needs a pick me up.

Come on fellers....get this show up a few notches or you unfortunately won't have to worry about next season! (Sorry).
  • I gave up on original Ghost Hunters when Grant left. This team does not have a lot of personality. Advertisements initially said original team back together. Tango didn't come on until later in first season or start of second. They never seem to have much advice for families besides learn to deal with it, take ownership, etc. I still watch Ghost Nation because of loyalty I guess because cast was part of Ghost Hunters, and it was first show of its kind, but much prefer Grant's new Ghost Hunters.
  • I loved ghost hunters! But i cant stand how they dont try to debunk anything now! Its turned into ever other ghost adventure show now which sucks, I hope they change it up as the season goes on!

Really disappointed with this show. Basically GHOST NATION is what I called GHOST HUNTERS LITE (Beta Edition). Feels like all 3 guys are bored to death with their careers and are phoning it in for a paycheck. They really offer no solution or rarely any evidence..of anything. I'll take Destination Fear, The Dead Files or even The Holzer Files which at least offers an interesting framework around an investigation.
  • Cringe.Cringe.Cringe. Steve Gonsalves' voice-overs are creepy, stilted, choppy, trying-too-hard to speak perfectly. I have to mute the t.v. when he.talks.about. the.show. gaaaaahhhh! Jason speaks normal. Dave is normalish. Steve is.just.trying.too.hard.to.be perfect. Jason LEAD INVESTIGATOR. Steve LEAD INVESTIGATOR. Dave puny title of just investigator.

Not a lot different then what they'd been doing. Just slightly. But, my problem is all the recapping. It's do much!! After ever single commercial and then again near the end. It's so unnecessary and a waist of time and money. But, I like the crew so I'll keep watching anyways. I'll just fast forward. So, 2-3 minutes for ads then another 3 mins for recapping. Argh!
  • I get it. I was a fan of Ghost hunters back in the day. They brought the paranormal taboo into the spotlight. I even traveled to several of the active locations they aired on tv. Savannah GA (Sorell Weed House), Birmingham AL. (Sloss Furnace) to name a few. But this new show lacks all of the skepticism and excitement of the original. I can't put my finger on it, but something about Ghost Nation just doesn't keep my attention. Maybe it's the unreal amount of commercials that air during each episode. It's just not as good in my opinion as other paranormal shows on tv right now. If I change my mind, I'll change my review. But I honestly don't see that happening anytime soon.
  • I've watched many shows through the years and I have to say that this show is one of the best! It's very realistic and describes best, how an investigation works. People always think that you permanently capture evidence every time you investigate but that's not the truth. Keep up the good job guys.
  • You can call it "finding Casper" for all I care. As long as it feed my need and fascination for the afterlife and supernatural. It's entertaining so far.

Please, please STOP the terribly annoying loud, creepy music and sound effects! It takes away from the total viewing experience and definitely makes you think that they're added to "enhance" weak evidence!
  • No theatrics or staged reactions. If there is nothing there or a explanation they say so and care about the people. Refreshing after all the over the top fakes. Great to see the originals back.
  • First of all love the show and great to see the crew together. Far and away better than the new Ghost Hunters. Only thing I would say is less flashlights while hunting and much less debunking. I think Tango would be better at the voice overs but just my opinion.
  • Honestly, I had hope, and it has been only one show. But oh my, lots of problems. These guys were fun and loose (well, Steve and Tango) on Ghost Hunters, they are strangely silent here. Most of the show revolves around recaps of what happened in the previous segment, and voice overs from mainly Jason. BTW, Steve, when they give you the voice over script, read it over before recording it. Way too stilted. Better yet, stop with all the voice overs. Just talk among yourselves while en route to whatever you are going to do. And stop with all the cuts of spooky filtered photo footage.

The wrap up just seemed to happen. There was no reviewing any possible evidence. But in reality, you didn't use anything much to review, like recorders.

Just humanize this show. What they have now is mostly recaps and discombobulated episodes.
  • I will start by saying that I am a complete skeptic, I watch shows like this purely for entertainment. And they can be very entertaining and, depending on the history of the location, very interesting.

However, my skepticism has nothing to do with whether or not I can enjoy the show. I enjoyed the original quite a bit. This show, however, is quite terrible on several levels.

Whoever decided to dub in questions in post production should be fired. All of these shows do voiceovers, I am referring to the additional voiceovers dubbed into a "live" scene. One of them is in a room asking questions, and suddenly in the middle of it the same person is asking a question that was clearly added in post production for reasons that I cannot understand. It's not like they had them go back and ask a question to fit some sort of evidence they found. You can always tell additional dialogue from the in the moment dialogue, no matter how good an editor or mixer is. But whoever did this work, wow, awful.

And the decision to have Jason Hawes put shackles on and walk around? I actually said out loud, "he's not going to actually do this, are you kidding me?" To say that was an extremely bad choice is an understatement. If more people were watching this show I would imagine that would've gotten quite a bit of attention and offended more than a few people. For obvious reasons. It WAS offensive and ridiculous. So out of touch it is stunning.

And did someone advise Steve to turn it up to 11 or what? In that same episode his reaction and over the top behavior made me cringe. Very very odd.

I have no idea what the ratings are for this, or for the rebooted ghost hunters. Which I'm also not a fan of, I just cannot warm up to the new crew. Regardless, unless they already had a deal in place for more than one season I cannot imagine a season two of this. Unless they are really desperate for programming.
  • They are the real deal. Heartwarming and sincerely trying to help folks out. Back to their roots. Our family all love Ghost Nation. Keep it coming. Love to Jason, Dave and Steve.
  • I tried to give the show a chance because of the original Ghost Hunters and it just Falls flat. Their debunking has reached a ridiculous law. They come up with reasons that are so seemingly impossible or something happening like a rug moving is probably caused by the people stepping on it for a few days and it moves underneath a dressing table. I would give the homeowners more credit then these ghost Nation people give them. I'm not saying a ghost did anything I'm just saying the reasons they're giving are just something that isn't plausible. And that guy Steve is one of the most annoying people on these types of shows. The guy's afraid of heights he's afraid of spiders which is neither here nor there but he is just as dry as dust... he just analyzes things to death to where they are so improbable they are laughable
  • I have watched these guys since Ghost Hunters first started and I will continue to watch them for as long as they are on tv. These guys work well together. They don't say everything is paranormal. They debunk what they can and try to find out what is going on with what they can't debunk. They joke around and have fun and they don't over react or get crazy while investigating. They are level headed, courteous, genuine and all around fun guys to watch. You won't find a better group of ghost hunters on tv.

I love the original Ghost Hunters. That was a truly groundbreaking show and was the catalyst for all the other ghost shows that have followed it.

However, the new Ghost Nation is a let down. I do love how they delve into the history of each location, but it seems that the outcome is always the same. "Nothing is malicious here and you have nothing to worry about".

One positive thing I will say is they don't over dramatize events and sensationalize things like Ghost Adventures. Could Zak Bagans be any more of a drama queen? This is much more realistic and low-key than Ghost Adventures.

I also miss the chemistry between Grant and Jason. They were a good team together.
  • I was not impressed with the premiere show. When this trio was on the old "Ghost Hunters", there was an obvious effort to debunk. Now we see a heavy reliance on "talking to ghosts" with their alleged response to flashing lights to conclude that the ghost of so and so was present. Likewise too much emphasis is placed on EMF evidence.

Not quite as good as the whole "old team" but still a good show worth watching.
  • The show is good enough I guess but I have a real problem when they hand the headphones to the homeowner and don't play the supposed "EVP's" for the audience..If you are getting real evidence we sure would like to hear it also
  • Simply watch the opening credits and how they announce the name of the show and tell me it doesn't remind you of a cheap knock off / parody of a ghost show. It's that laughable... "WE ARE... GHOST NATION!" please stop making me cringe.

Jason has tried to act more and more like Bagans on the last seasons of Ghost Hunters (on SyFy) that its pretty sad actually. Go back to being like the first season on GH and stop acting like you own the field. Your tech is out dated, your style is old fashioned and you cant hang with the heavy hitters like new GH and Ghost Adventures. Season 2 you ask, not a chance unless TRVL is that desperate.
  • Ghost Nation Is A Fantastic Show! The Cast & Crew Do A Fantastic Job Getting Down To The Facts Of Every Case And Helping Out Their Clients. Bravo Everyone! Keep Doing The Great Job That You All Are Doing👏

I tried to like this show to be honest but it is absolutely terrible. I was a fan of these ghost shows growing up and I know these guys have a history in the industry and a credit for developing it over the years but much like AOL's online service when Comcast and Verizon started becoming players I can't help but feel they have become drastically dated and have failed to keep up with the times.

For starters you can never hear what they hear and we are froced to watch them go into these "haunted" places in the dark with flood lights and camera crews following them only to watch them get excited at every little sound they hear like they are new to the industry.

Moving on we have the reenactments that sadly enough are probably the most exciting part of the show because we think for a second we might be seeing an apparition but I think that is just our hope that we are watching a decent sci-fi fake movie instead of this garbage.

Every time they do "hear" something we go to a commercial break then come back and get to "hear" it all over again only to face major disappointment because we are left hanging thinking something exciting might actually happen only to realize we should've just spent the extra 10 minutes in the kitchen or changed the channel.

The "Travel" channel has apparently become the paranormal channel and no longer does anything related to travel instead catering to the 0.0001% of the country interested in this borefest, I'm not sure how much shelf life these type of shows have left in their tank but hopefully not a lot because this is plain excruciating to watch, none of the investigators barely have any personality either, it is the same monotone week after week and the same questions "is there someone here that can make a noise for us?" "can you do that thing you did before ?" then we get the end piece where the team tells the home owner the almost identical thing week after week where it is either intelligent or residual, etc etc and not to worry, I guess when you practice in a field that isn't based on any known science it is ok to make it up as you go along.

Save yourself the hour of you life and do something more productive like clip your toenails or pour hot wax in your eyes this is not good tv
