Disclaimer I only watch about 15 mins from each episode. I only watch the results of the 2 competitions and fast forward everything else. Some of the grooming results are interesting others are just horrible like the host. Don't like the host from what I've seen.

Such a wonderful reality show with a lovable host and genuinely kind contestants. The only drama that occurred was based upon the performance of the grooms and not petty disagreements between the members, as these people were fair and good-mannered towards one another throughout the show. The pet dye was clearly safe and washable and the animals were treated with gentleness regardless of what the heated Karens and Kevins are on about. The only reason I am knocking off some stars is because the judges had a clear bias and were too over critical on certain people solely and lenient on others. The finale was cute but also disappointing as the least impressive design was chosen obviously because of the sob story that was provided by the winners. I also found that the jokes were too cheesy and oftentimes oddly sexual for a show about dogs. Other than these things, I was hooked on this show and would love to see more! As an artist and animal lover, this was definitely one of my favourite reality TV concepts out there!

Every joke is so fake and bad but that makes it good somehow. Also, seeing the dog transformations is pretty neat. All in all, this is a guilty pleasure watch.
  • Oh my gawd the long downward spiral into the tv crap oblivion universe has come to a screeching halt at it's final destination with this odiuos tripe.I need a visit to the vet just from the ads.
  • That's entertainment? To me it borders on animal cruelty. Watched the first show and could hardly stand it. Will not watch another episode! Awful.
  • You should be ashamed!..... These are living beings, not lumps of clay to be used for your sick amusement!.....

How about we put the producers of the show on and let them be painted and shaved like circus clowns..... That would be entertaining!.....

I have endured a lot over the years as I've observed the degradation of television..... However..... this is the last straw.....

    Goodbye ABC!

I am very upset people can make this kind of show. Dogs are not a toy you can play with. It even could encourage people to abuse their pet without thought. I feel sorry for the dogs they just have to get stressed out unnecessarily. Dying dogs hair and putting too much accessories can give pets so much stress. It is not what they wany but to entertain human. It shows awful human centric ideas on animal abuse. Please stop
  • What's with the cringey sexually charged....errr....'jokes'....not exactly for all kids, besides that overall it's embarrassingly unfunny & she's just a try hard.
  • Why? Is it good? Not really. The host isn't very funny IMO, but it does NOT deserve a 2 /10. There is absolutely no evidence of abuse involved in this show other than people seeing that dogs are being groomed and assume it's cruel, but the allegations of medicating dogs are literally just someone going 'hmmm that dog seems a bit too calm'. If you're fine with the game shows about tattoo artists existing, in which the exact same thing happens on people, but see this a problem, you're delusional.

Bad show, but not abusive, overall 6/10.
  • Whats the premise here, get the most annoying, unfunny person to host a lame show about making animals look anything but normal.I'm not sorry at all but anything rebels in she completely ruins & yeah as the previous reviewer mentioned even the ads make me want to smash the tv,its akin to cheese grater meets b alls.
  • I don't understand why everyone is hating on this show so much! It's a light hearted grooming show set up just like baking shows or an art/style show. The groomers have a set amount of time to groom their dog in line with the prompt. All the dogs have seemed very relaxed. If you think dyeing a dog pink and putting jewels on it is abuse that is your own opinion but the dogs don't seem bothered at all. Also this is a family show of course their are going to be dumb puns but that is the point have you ever seen a baking show without them. I think people are being overly critical of the whole thing. If you like dogs and you want to watch something creative and fun definitely watch it!
  • Humans - abusing and/or making animals uncomfortable for pure entertainment since... forever. Disgusting! I can't believe there were enough people that thought this show was a grand idea. We need to start doing better.

Oh yeah, animal abuse, what a clever idea for a show, what next dying babies' hair crazy colors?

    What?
This is, without a doubt, the stupidest television program I have ever seen. I wouldn't let anyone of the groomers on this show near my dog. They're not grooming dogs, they're turning their dogs into a sideshow, and that's disappointing. I love my dogs too much to turn them into a sideshow to be laughed at.

What a miserable show, I feel bad for the animals being treated like objects. They are beautiful animals being exploited....please take off air ABC, you can do better.

I was so looking forward to this show. Without much effort it could have been so much better. Good concept. Horrible execution.

    Fun
Fun. Entertaining compared to daily life. With today's world, it's nice to see relaxing friendly entertainment.
  • I am not one for"grooming" a dog in the manner in which they are doing on this show. I may have missed it, but where do the dogs come from and where do they go after the show? All of the dog's being groomed seem overly calm, as if medicated. I hope this is not so. The people dressed in dog costumes was rather creepy, as was the sexual innuendo chatter between the show's host and the contestants. I can't imagine the dogs feeling comfortable going home or wherever they came from heavily painted up, with feathers, glitter, costume jewelry, and sequins. If these dogs have no forever home, I hope every effort is made to get them adopted. I'd like to have seen money being generated from the show to be given to needy animal rescue organizations instead of giving the groomers $100,000 dollars. My heart goes out to the dogs being treated like guinea pigs, purely for human monetary gain. So much more could have been done to focus on the dogs' welfare and the strong bond between humans and canines, and the many ways dogs contribute to making this world a better place for us because they give their all for their human, with unconditional love. And because of that, what is being done to the dogs on this show is denegrating and hard to watch or give validation to.

I have watched this show to the very end and have thoroughly enjoyed every episode. These groomers are also judged on the relationship with the dog that they are grooming. I have NEVER seen a dog scared or mistreated.

You should also know that groomers in the United States do not require any training or state licensing! My dog was extremely hurt and traumatized by a local groomer.

The dogs on this show are being groomed by specialized groomers. So you people with your disgustingly reviews should just not watch a show that you know nothing about.

This is a great show for people with dogs. Especially if you lost your special friend. It brings a little joy to my life.

So change the channel if you don't approve!!
  • Such tripe! How incredibly STUPID! Poor pups!!! How could this even make it to TV! BLECH BLECH blech!

Weird, uncomfortable, pointless, and borderline abusive. I feel dirty after watching this. Am I watching a dog sex cult?

I legitimately think this might be the worst thing I have ever seen on television.

Supposedly were evolving, yet we keep producing garbage like this. It seems like a lot to put these animals though. Our need to project people issues onto everything is insane. We've become such hypocrites. A tear for a world suffering. Yet making little effort to make any real change. In a positive manor , that is. Seeing shows like this. Make it rather easy to see how superficial and material weve become. Becoming a channel with in a channel. To the point of only static. Consumed and void of genuine connection. 2021 still using animals on tv for competition. To use as a canvas and judge. Kind of sick minded...... Personally I wont be supporting it. But to each there own. It is a "free" country after all! Amazing the things that are legal vs not. Small groups making up all the rules for the rest to follow. A system obviously that is consistently yielding worse quality. Staying in a state with next to np adaption for "evolving". Is this shallow layer. Consist of all humanity's depth?

This is the worst show on TV ever. I am 73 yers old. Never saw a more waste of time.
  • This show is cruel to both dogs and humans. The annoying host makes it even worse. I could not make it through the first show.
  • Pooch Perfect is a reality TV contest show in which dog groomers compete to become the next dog grooming superstar. Absolutely immaculate reality TV performance. I am at the edge of my seat each week, and desperately wait for Hulu to release the latest episode. I see no problems whatsoever with the treatment of the animals on this show, and not many animal activists have complained to my knowledge. I was a fan of all 3 Pitch Perfect films, so I was excited to see that Rebel Wilson would be the host. I was not disappointed-she has ecstatic energy, delivers knee slapping puns, and not once did it seem like she wanted to kill herself. I respect any TV personality who can have fun on the job. Slay!
