Olav's death is suspected not to have been accidental. Search is deployed after a hit-and-run white station car with damages. Bremer was seen talking with Olav right before the accident. Lund and Meyer ask him about their conversation, while Phillip Dessau, Bremer's media advisor, enters the room and intervenes admitting it w a s a hit-and-run; Bremer promises Dessau will deliver to the police all the needed info, including the source of the monthly added 5,000 krona to Olav's salary, and asks to be informed about any developments.
Charlotte tries to convince Pernille to make peace with Theis (though he should not put away Nanna's belongings), but Pernille won't listen and says she can't trust her or Theis.
Hartmann disrupts Bremer's meeting with the other political parties. Dessau discovers Olav's additional pay came from Hartmann's department. Hartmann is arrested.
Mark goes to stay with his father as relations with his mother sour. Lund fears her home phone is being tapped.
The scene of Hartmann's suicide bid is discovered in his late wife's old cottage. Despite eventually admitting the events on the weekend of the murder, he remains in custody.
A disturbed Pernille demands Nanna's ashes burial plot is relocated and a wreath removed during the ceremony for close family, though Vagn, who arrives meanwhile, claims the wreath is from him and his co-workers. At the same time, a drunken Theis is beaten up in an alley by youths. He does not retaliate and wakes later bruised and hung-over in a hostel for the homeless.
A search for a white station wagon is launched. Lund discovers the damaged station wagon in Holck's garage.
