When Adam Devine is holding the gun Ellen Barkin says he looks like James Bond. Pierce Brosnan asks which one, and she says number 5. Pierce replies that's a good one. Pierce Brosnan was the 5th actor to portray James Bond.
Adam Devine first received the idea of the story from writers Ben Zazove and Evan Turner in 2016. He wrote the idea in a notebook, then forgot about it for a few years. Later, when coming across the notebook, he thought it was a great idea and contacted the writers, fearing that the rights would have already been sold. Thankfully, the story hadn't, and Devine was able to help develop it.
The song that plays when Phoebe King opens her bank vault for Owen is Beethovens's "Ode to Joy". The same song plays when the bank vault is finally opened in Die Hard (1988).
