There is a prolonged bar scene where prostitution is implied, but not actually shown. One of the suggested prostitutes reveals some cleavage. A minor who works at the bar is said to be "too young", but a drunk man argues that she can "start work early". Shortly after, a boy saves the girl from the aforementioned drunk man assaulting her. Later, she bashfully admits to being "sold".

Human on human violence is both rare and non-lethal. However, as the premise of the show suggests, there is plenty of human on dragon violence. This violence involves steampunk-style combat with guns, harpoons, and spears. Colourful dragon blood is sometimes seen splattering outward during these scenes. The blood is milder than normal blood, as it more closely resembles grape juice. After dragons are killed, their bodies are cut up for use (e.g. oil, meat, skin, etc.).

The dubbed version includes occasional use of the words d*mn, h*ll, b*stard, and *ss. The worst of the profanity is used in the sentence, "Well, this was a sh**ty plan!"

Lots of heavy drinking is depicted throughout the show. Some characters even encourage each other to get drunk. One scene depicts a drinking contest between three characters.
