- Items from an abandoned storage unit go on auction. The buyers discover the journals of the owner's sadistic fantasies, and detailed plans for building torture devices. They report their findings, and local FBI agent Jill Morris is convinced that she is on the trail of a serial killer. She convinces Rossi to take the case, by planting an additional piece of evidence. The investigating agents manage to connect the killer to many cold cases, indicating that the killer has been getting away with murder for several years. He orchestrated the discovery of the journals because he wanted a new challenge in his life. The killer targets a specific type of women: attractive and competent career women in their 30s. - From a South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania auction of a self-storage unit's mystery contents, the purchasers find some boxes containing disturbing materials: graphic violent sexual fantasy drawings and related text. There is also human skin, nails and hair along with it. The items in combination indicate a serial sexual predator in the making, or one that is already at work. In searching through the storage unit, the BAU come up with a profile of both the unsub and his intended victims. Based on this information, they identify several female victims from unsolved cases fitting the victim profile: naked at the time of death with electrical burn marks to their body. They are all thirty-something brunettes, in what can be viewed as strong professional careers, which could be emasculating to a weak male. When the case accidentally goes public, it goes in an entirely different direction where the unsub seems to want to play the story out in front of the authorities. The BAU are assisted and at the same time hindered on the case by Jill Morris, the FBI's Philadelphia case agent. She seems to be more interested in making a name for herself than doing what is best to abduct the unsub. But she unknowingly also may play into the final chapter of the unsub's story.—Huggo
