- Tyra instructs the contestants on how to achieve the perfect end-of-runway pose.
- The episode jumps right into each girl's neuroses, because, really, isn't that why you're watching? Aimee gets to glow about her raved-over skin from last week. This gives Lauren a chance to feel generally insecure as we relive her low confidence, "a huge inner struggle" for her. Back at the house Claire gets teething updates about her daughter from her husband over the phone and mentions how her new mother milk is drying up. The scene cuts away to her pumping breast milk, completing the latest installment of Top Model TMI. She tells her husband that the women generally get along except for a "few people" who cause problems. And... cue Dominique. Roommates Claire and Dominique discuss the latter's inability to set an alarm clock and how it has led to Claire being woken up twice at 6 a.m. Cranky models need sleep. "Don't do that, you're just looking for a reason to be pissed off at me," Dominique says to Claire. Says Claire: "There's good reason for me to be pissed off at you." The next few scenes pile on. Claire: "Dominique causes a lot of negative controversy in the house." Next, Claire calls Dominique a "shady bitch," before aforementioned shady bitchy has even gotten out of bed. "If you can't talk to me with respect, then don't open your mouth to me," Dominique says in full bed-head glory as they continue arguing about her waking others up with her alarm. Anya tells Dominique to just "take responsibility." Aimee remains neutral on the issue, proclaiming herself too mature for such things. Around the table, Claire, Whitney and Lauren all take exception to the way Dominique has spoken to them at times. Lauren stands on a chair and screams: "You are f----- crazy," not looking terribly sane and reasonable herself. Dominique cries on the phone to her mom, "I think they're looking for a reason to get me upset." Her mom calls her "a winner."
Everyone dries their tears in time for Tyra Mail: "You ladies are sick, but I'll help you get better." Tyra picks them up in the limo cab. They go upstairs to a dance room and put on red leggings and t-shirts as Tyra lectures them about the 3 second rule of pausing at the end of the runway. Tyra fakes a sprained ankle to teach them about posing with pain. The girls excel at faking period pain a proud Tyra mentions. Then she flops around on the floor a lot. Tyra has clearly been watching a lot of Project Runway, she uses the word "fierce" about fifty gajillion times. Back at the house they get more Mail: "I've been aching to tell you, tonight's lesson was actually a challenge. Guess who posed the fiercest?" Anya wins a one-on-one photo shoot with Nigel Barker.
The next day she heads to the shoot, where she'll be spending a day in bed. Nigel tells her he wants the photos to be timeless, which somehow includes being nude. He explains she'll be covered. But then the next scenes show her topless, exposed, with boobs blurred. Back at the house the other girls mix interest with envy. Aimee, who was raised Mormon, says she's glad she didn't win the nekkid challenge.
Later, Claire, Whitney and Lauren - bonded through their dislike of Dominique - laugh and talk while she's in bed nearby with a headache. She's upset because she wants to sleep and asks them to go in the other room. They refuse, keeping her awake. She seems to miss the irony of the sleep deprivation.
More Tyra Mail: "Being a top model is a pretty good gig, if you can get it." They go to Williamsburg, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, to meet Jay Manuel, where they learn they'll be embodying a style of music in the outdoor shoot. Fatima gets "rock" and ends up looking like a hotter, more sober and female version of Gene Simmons and Axl Rose. Katarzyna has "emo" and a wig and looks like something that woke up under an Indie rocker in Seattle. Lauren struts out next in red pleather, ready for "pop," freezing off the rear that's hanging out of her outfit. She admits she's not really familiar with pop music, but the camera does not show the rock she's presumably been living under. Claire has country music with a blonde wig and frilly skirt. Jay isn't sure she's portraying the genre. Domnique gets hair extensions and "folk." Anya has punk and a wig that looks like a poodle sitting on her head. Jay is underwhelmed. Stacy-Ann frustrates photographer Russell James with her "contrived," "modeling type poses" for house. Aimee gets R & B, in a Gladys Knight-style gold sequined dress, but does little with it. Whitney gets grunge, with cut-off jeans and fishnets, and earns raves.
Back at the house, more Tyra Mail announces someone will be cut soon. For those unfamiliar with the show in its tenth season. Claire is worried about her shoot and Aimee second-guesses herself. At judge's table... They like Whitney, Fatima, Lauren, Katarzyna. They tell Anya to work on finding the "light" and Russell tells Aimee that she "struggled." They're not thrilled with Stacy-Ann and Tyra tells Claire it was "her worst shoot ever." Russell tells Dominique her head and body weren't working together in the shoot. The girls leave so the judges can deliberate. Paulina makes a face like she's smelling bad fish when discussing Aimee and they conspire to cut Katarzyna's hair if she sticks around. They bring the girls back to announce the results. Whitney is first then, Katarzyna (who will be getting that haircut), Fatima, Lauren, Anya, Dominique, Stacy-Ann. Claire and Aimee remain. Tyra tells them they have generally done well so far, but, obviously, not this challenge. Claire stays. She's giddy and excited while Aimee cries behind her. Tyra's advice to her is to "go for it." Says Aimee, departing; "Obviously, I thought I was going to go pretty far...but I thought I was definitely going to go farther...I wish the judges knew I that was more mature than they think I am....I think they really got that image of me and didn't think that maybe I was ready for this competition."
