Having loved the original Benza (so much that I've seen the whole thing at least four times), I was looking forward to this one with high expectations. And it delivers. At first glance it seems very different in structure, taking all the wackiness and hilarity of the original and wrapping in a parody of an educational language program, with side-characters of the original elevated as the main stars. Yet the mood is the same, and the humor is all classic Benza; different frame, same spirit. I am already re-watching The Benza English (like it's predecessor--like all good comedies--it's immensely re-watcheable), and can't wait to show it to all my friends.

junhasamail19 April 2020I've been following from the start, and each episode is crazier than the one before it! Even learnt some English along the way lol. Having studied many languages, this parody of learning programs has me in stitches every time!

The main theme is Benza English has a bit of fun with Japanese Educational Television, the lessons are not what you expect. Wonderfully funny and accessible, and full of laughs that are always welcome in a world full of trouble. Terrific!

lensei-3711320 April 2020I liked the original Benza series, with an amusing initial premise turned into a massive meta-comedy by throwing in every Japanese anime and movie trope imaginable.
This improves upon the original series. You can see how the filmmakers and cast have honed their skills over time, and with both English education and the "commentary TV show" format to play with, the series has a whole new trove of Japanese media tropes to explode. I love the addition of Fanny Deep and the swimsuit model (whose name escapes me) to the cast, and can't wait to see how they lampoon the formula as time goes on.
Bob Werley is a star turn as "Bob," a role that demands quotation marks every time "Bob" is mentioned. He can play the role of ridiculous "Charisma Man" without actually being one, which would be less funny. I loved Maria's line about being a European enjoying the rare chance to speak English on TV - one of those little things you don't even notice until someone makes a joke about it.
I'm keen to see how this series continues. So far, I think it's been spot-on. Also, I think I went to university with people like David in the "Hit it Hard" segment. Well done, guys - looking forward to watching more from the Benza team! -

Pretty much all topics have been covered by various textbooks and online lessons... but out of no where, the Benza English crew create a hilarious series of short videos with the most unique English learning content possible. Laugh and Learn at its funniest!

dominikzahnchef23 April 2020Im from Europe and I know the language -Problem in Taiwan for example . Well , it's really funny to see that " problem " reenact . The actors are awesome and the situations are so enjoyable . Also the recordings are kind of simple but really well done. I like that Would be great to see more of it and u guys continue .
