- After recent events, Barry takes a closer look at his life with Iris; Eva makes a bold move.
- Eva sends her mirror clones to make contact with another enemy of the Flash's so that she can return to the real world. Meanwhile, Barry is convinced that Mirror Iris is not his wife, but his test backfires, turning Nash and Cecile against him. Cisco and Ralph find that Caitlin's ice powers are going out of control.—Gislef
- Ralph is in the cortex with Cisco and Barry, and asks if they're sure they want to use the machine the built based on Eobard's teachings to create a new Speed force. Barry tells Cisco to do it, and Cisco does. The device glows with energy and gravity goes wild. The machine starts glowing and then powers down, and Cisco realizes that it didn't work.
Cecile comes in and asks how the test went, and Ralph admits that it didn't go well. Cisco wonders how Eobard managed to do it, and Cecile suggests that they go out and clear the heads. She saw that she was on her way to The Citizen, and asks Barry if he wants to go with her. Barry refuses, saying that he has to keep working on the machine, and Cecile asks if he wants to see Iris or if there's anything she can tell him. He asks her to tell Iris that he misses her and leaves.
At The Citizen, the clones of Iris and Kamilla tell Eva that Barry's speed is all but gone. Eva notices that Iris appears dist4racted, and Iris dismisses it as nothing and asks Eva if they should carry out the second phase of her plan. Eva tells them to join the mirror clone of Singh and that night, Eva will have her liberation.
Cecile knocks at the door, and Eva's mirror image fades. When Cecile says that Barry's heart is breaking, Iris angrily tells her that Barry promised he wouldn't make any more decisions without her. Cecile tells her that the first step to getting over it is to want to, and asks Iris what she wants. Iris looks at her and Barry's wedding photo and admits that she doesn't know. She asks Cecile if she can empathically feel what she wants and can tell her. Cecile concentrates and picks up that Iris feels sad, and concerned. Kamilla suggests that Iris needs space to focus on what's important, and Iris agrees. Cecile tells Iris that Barry said he misses here and leaves.
Later, Cecile goes to her house and finds the door blocked. Barry is there, and finds boxes and boards all over the place. He tells her that Iris isn't Iris, and figures that a shapeshifter took iris' place. Barry eliminated all the other possibilities, and says that he discovered on the night Iris started acting strange, she went to McCulloch Text. Cecile doesn't believe him, and suggests that Barry is feeling scared because their wedding is going through a rough patch.
Barry explains that his speed gauge is glowing red because he needs his powers back if he's going to save the real Iris. He insists that he knows in his heart that the real Iris is out there somewhere waiting for him to rescue her, and he won't let her down.
Cisco and Ralph go to Caitlin's apartment to check on her and bring fits. The door knob is frozen, and the two men go in to find Caitlin on the couch, barely conscious. She asks them for help, and Cisco checks the surrounding temperature.
The real Iris tells Eva that she's come up with a way to escape the mirror verse. She wants to smash the mirror, and Eva stops her. Eva suggests that they break the mirror and examine it, and Eva storms off, saying that she's going to work on a plan that will help them. Once she's alone, Iris starts to smash the mirror but notices a small button on the frame. She presses it and stares in shock at what is beyond the mirror when the panel it's on slides open.
Barry convinces Cecile to let him into Iris' office, and hacks her computer. He explains that he's looking for anything suspicious, and finds a photo that was deleted from Kamilla's camera but uploaded to the paper's cloud. It shows a prismatic image of Iris sitting with Wally, and Barry figures they can use it to expose Iris for good.
Iris, Kamilla, and Singh put mirrors up around iris' apartment, and Iris stares at them. She finally tells the others that all that matters if following Eva's will, and Singh says that there's one object left that they need to get for Eva's liberation, and it's the most dangerous yet.
In a power cell at McCulloch, Ramsey looks up from within his cell.
At STAR Labs, Cecile texts the mirror Iris to come there. Barry and Nash step out of hiding, and Nash aims his gauntlet at her. Barry says that she's not leaving until she tells them what she really is, and Barry shows her the photo. He figures the camera is showing a dimensional shift, and Cecile admits that Iris seemed off earlier. Iris insists that the camera might have glitched, and Barry takes out a prismatic scanner and says that when the wave hits her, she'll look like she does in the photo. Iris asks how he can do it when she's his wife. Barry nods in negation, and Iris says that she'll show them who she really is.
The real Iris steps into the lab behind the mirror, and turns on a machine. The mirrors around the room screech, and Iris clutches at her head in pain. She plays back images of everything Eva has seen through the mirrors, including her confrontation against Caver. She also sees images of the device that Eva is assembling, and how she was pulled through the mirror. Iris finally collapses in shock, and Eva comes in and says that the truth hurts.
The mirror Iris sits down and tells Barry that she forgives him if anything happen. Barry activates the device but nothing happens. Nash and Cecile don't believe what Barry is claiming, and Iris says that the real Barry would have fought to come back to her. She uses the device on Barry, and he takes on a prismatic shape. When Iris turns the device off, Barry tells Nash and Cecile that he's real.
Nash prepares to shoot Barry, but Cecile stops him and tells Barry that she believes him. She then puts the power dampeners on him, apologizes, and steps back.
Nash and Cecile put Barry in a power cell and yells at them not to believe the mirror Iris. Iris and the others watch, and Cecile figures that it's related to Black Hole. Nash agrees and figures that it's related to McCulloch's reflective chip technology. Iris sends Nash to do some digging, while she works with Cecile. Cecile gets an empathic flash and then tells the others that something doesn't feel right, and Iris promises that they'll get the real Barry back.
Cisco tells Ralph that they need to wake Caitlin up out of her self-induced ice hibernation, and Ralph will have to act as the jumper cables. Ralph touches the battery and Caitlin, and the hock throws him back. Caitlin stops generating cold and wakes up, and explains she tried to ice heal her wound from Sunshine. She figures that she needs help, and says that there's only one person they can call: her mother.
The mirror Iris joins Singh and Kamilla at McCulloch, and says that everything went according to plan. Earlier, she talked to Eva who secretly substituted her wave projector for Barry's. The trio go into the cells using Singh's credentials, go to see Ramsey, and they say that if he helps them then they can get him out. Iris explains what they really are, and Ramsey asks for more information about Eva. They say that Eva needs one drop of Ramsey's blood. Ramsey accepts their offer, and asks how they plan to disrupt the matrix he's imprisoned in.
Kamilla says that Eva has a theory and steps forward. Eva warns her that she'll die, but "Kamilla" says that it's Eva's mill. She steps into the force field holding Ramsey, and is disintegrated it. As the alarms, go off, Ramsey attacks Singh and Iris, knocks Singh unconscious, and says that he senses a modicum of will in Mirror Iris. He asks what she wants, and she finally says that she wants to be alive. Ramsey drops her and says that she's worthy of it, Ramsey steps back into his cell and reactivates the forcefield, and tells Iris and the recovered Singh that he's playing the long game. Iris removes some of Ramsey's blood from her neck and puts it in a container, and Singh tells her to go while he covers their tracks. As Iris goes, Ramsey tells her to run.
At STAR Labs, Cecile frees Barry and tells him that she knows it in his heard that he's Barry. She tells him to go get Iris back and steps aside, and Barry speed away.
Mirror Iris goes back to her apartment, and Eva tells her through the mirror to put Ramsey' blood on her side of the mirror, and she'll activate the R-CEM on her side. Together they will create a safe passageway between worlds so that she can free herself. Barry comes in and says that their plan won't work, and Eva's image disappears. He asks where his wife is, and Mirror Iris smiles and tosses Ramsey's blood onto the mirror. She then extends two mirror spikes from her arms and attacks Barry.
Eva ties Iris up, and when Iris wakes up she tells her captor that she saw everything. She says that she and Barry will stop her, and Eva says that she used to think her love would give her strength. Eva gestures at the mirror, showing Mirror Iris attacking Barry. He finally uses his speed to avoid her attack, and he asks who is making her do it. Mirror Iris renews her attack, scratching Barry's cheek. He blocks her blows and Mirror Iris stabs Barry through the nearby mirrors. Eva shatters a ceiling mirror, and Mirror Iris stabs him through the pieces.
Once Barry collapses, he asks Mirror Iris where his wife is. Mirror Iris asks what he thinks about her as he lies on the floor, moaning in pain. She taunts Iris about all the time they spent together when he thought Mirror Iris was his wife.
Looking on, Iris says that she'll kill Eva. Eva tells her that she's been working on her plan for a decade, and Mirror Iris feels what Eva feels. Iris asks Eva if she still loves Carver, and says that he'll track her in the same way because Eva still loves him.
Eva loses her temper, and Mirror Iris clutches at her head in pain. Barry slowly recovers.
Iris continues taunting Eva about her feelings for Carver, and Eva screams that she hates him. She yells that she wants him to suffer.
Barry looks at Mirror Iris echoing Eva's words, and realizes that Iris is on the other side of the mirror. He tells Mirror Iris that he won't fight her, and she was made from Iris so a part of her heart is inside her. Barry says that at least some of the feelings she has she got from Iris, and tells her that she can be herself but she has to want it.
Eva watches through the mirror.
Barry tells Mirror Iris that she has to want her freedom. Mirror Iris tells him to find Iris, and then pieces of prismatic energy shine through her. As Barry holds her in her arms, Mirror Iris says that she feels alive and then shatters into glass pieces. Eva watches through the mirror and then activates the R-CEM. She steps through the dimensional portal into the apartment, then telekinetically sends a shard of glass into Barry's chest. Eva apologizes, saying that she had to get back to the real world, and how long Iris, Singh, and Kamilla remain safe is up to him.
When Barry wonders if Eva is going to kill him, Eva says that there's no need because he's lost his speed and he's not much of a threat. As long as he stays out of her way, she'll stay out of his. She teleports into the nearby mirrors, saying she has a whole world to liberate, and then disappears as Barry passes out.
Later in the apartment, Barry wakes up and realizes that he's healed with the last of his speed. He looks in a nearby mirror, holds it, and tells Iris on the other side that he just needs to believe that his wife can hear him. Barry says that he misses her so much.
IN the mirror universe, Iris frees herself and looks at the mirror. She says that being away from Barry hurts more every day, but she has hope because he's fighting to get her back home.
They both say that they love each other, and that love is constant across dimensions and time. Iris promises to find the real Kamilla and Singh, and most of all she's going to find her way back to Barry.
