Best Finnish thriller-drama series I've seen. Great actors, kids were amazing! I loved the costumes and the set. The story line was really interesting, how history still lives in inner yards and woods, in people and families. How it repeats itself and how acts of past mold tomorrow. But how we can also try to make difference or be better than our parents. Story line was evolving all the time, and guesses for the end changed from episode to episode. And the ending was perfect. Though the series made me cry and fear, but also made me smile and laugh. Still after a month of watching the last episode I find myself missing watching the show.
  • Absolutely the best Finnish series in whatever genre ever.

I know the neighbourhood, a street called called Ulvilantie surrounding mostly all of the residential buildings, and a deep forest outside.

    But for the review..

Everything here is right. The script, the direction, the photography, the music, the acting. You follow the happenings around you from the point of view of the children, which is far from regular. The music always takes you to something sinister, horror if you like, but psychological horror, not gore. The images do the same in their part.

Only thing that keeps from giving this a ten is is the eternal sin of the adult actors' not being capable of speaking clearly.

But. In the penultimate episode Miro's mother (Laura Birn) gives out a monologue, of which I half hear, but totally understand.
  • It would be much better not to stretch it out for 10 episodes.

It is great how it was filmed and cast to give you the feeling that it is an actually filmed in 80s (Eastern European standards).

Acting was good. Characters looks and appearance is spot on for that period of time.

The story line is good but MAAAAAN it was slowly in developing. I almost quit watching the show after 3rd episode. Was expecting to see some hints, some changes, tension that suppose to keep you watching the show but nothing.

The was no progress on the disappearing of the child, no suspects even in episode 5?!

I guess this move is more for the nostalgy.

It is no way a detective type of the show.
