- The Annual Meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses was held on October 5, 2019 in Newburgh, New York. Br. Izak Marais opens the program with a warm invitation to listen in to the first part of the Annual Meeting. We first hear from Br. Losch on the theme: 'Your Leader is One: The Christ.' He shares a brief description on the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses from the local congregations all the way to the Governing Body. Subsequently, Br. Lett addresses the subject: 'Our Relief Ministry Used by Jehovah to Provide Relief.' He speaks of relief in three areas: physical, emotional, and spiritual. We then enjoy a video on how the friends in Indonesia received relief after the earthquake and tsunami of 2018. We also see images from Africa of friends who's homes were rebuilt or repaired thanks to the donations received by the organization and the labor from volunteers. On another video we enjoy a very touching experience of someone who's home was completely destroyed and how the local congregation helped him rebuild. 'The Good Hand of God is Upon Us. Let Us Get up and Build', that's the title of the video that the chairman introduces next. The video takes us around the globe including Brazil, Finland, Africa, Argentina, Cameroon, Indian, and other countries where current construction of new branch facilities or the renovation of others is currently in place. The chairman then introduces another video entitled: 'A Historic Look at Property Acquisition' which is a faith-strengthening description on the decision-making process to move the world headquarters out of Brooklyn New York. We are then presented with a another video on the subject: 'A New Construction Project is Being Planned.' Because of the explosive growth and need for video production, we are surprised with the thrilling news that the governing body has approved the creation of a new site dedicated primarily to video production in Ramapo, New York. Construction is expected to start in 2022. A call is also made for the need of financial support and labor volunteers that are willing to be part of this exciting project. The program concludes with spectacular images from Papua, New Guinea along with greetings from the local congregation.
