Queen Elizabeth II: University hasn't been easy, by the sounds of it.
Prince William: [chuckles lightly] No.
Queen Elizabeth II: If what Harry said is true, and your dissatisfaction has more to do with... affairs of the heart...
[Williams smiles and picks up his jacket]
Queen Elizabeth II: Well, what else would one call it?
[William thinks about this for a brief moment]
Prince William: [simply] Dating.
Queen Elizabeth II: Oh, yes. I don't know that word because we didn't do that in my day. We met someone, then married them and got on with it.
[William puts on his jacket]
Prince William: [gladly] There's certainly no danger of marriage in this case. There's no danger of... dating either. I've made a mess of it.
Queen Elizabeth II: And you don't want to hear anything about other fish in the sea? Or encouragement to make another go of it?
Prince William: Well, if I did that, it would be another word you don't know... stalking.
Queen Elizabeth II: Actually, I *do* know that word.
Prince William: Oh.
[they both chuckle softly]
Queen Elizabeth II: [wise and encouraging] Don't lose faith. I'm a *firm* believer that what was meant for you won't pass you by.
[Queen Elizabeth looks up]
Queen Elizabeth II: He makes sure of that.

[people are gathering in a street in London where Princess Diana and Prince William are selling Big Issue magazines]
Carole Middleton: [awestruck] It's Princess Diana!
Princess Diana: [to a passerby in the crowd] Thank you. Merry Christmas.
[Carol and Kate make their way towards the crowd]
Princess Diana: [to someone in the crowd] Know what? Here, can we have some more of yours? We're selling out.
Girl: Diana, can I have one, please?
Princess Diana: [chuckles] Thank you very much.
Carole Middleton: [to Kate] Here's a pound.
Kate Middleton: [insisting] No. More than that.
Princess Diana: [to someone in the crowd] There you go. Merry Christmas.
Carole Middleton: [gives Kate a £5 note] Here you go.
Princess Diana: [impressed] Selling like hotcakes!
[Carol and Kate approach Diana and William and Kate offers the £5 note]
Princess Diana: [grateful] Ooh, that's *very* generous. What's your name?
Carole Middleton: [quickly cuts in] Catherine.
Kate Middleton: [trying not to laugh] Uh, Kate's fine.
[Kate looks at William and he her stare at each other for a brief moment]
Princess Diana: [to William] Say thank you to Kate.
Prince William: [clears throat] Uh, thank you.
[William gives Kate one of the Big Issue magazines]
Princess Diana: Merry Christmas.
Carole Middleton: Merry Christmas.
