The movie takes place in Glenbrooke, Colorado in the mid of December just before Christmas. However, it was obviously shot in the early autumn, and the only time you see real winter footage is when they show stock footage in-between scenes. They used artificial snow which is different from the real one. Right from the start of the movie around town church, you can see beautiful green deciduous trees, and bushes. Some of them have sprayed snow on them, and some don't. In the town center, they didn't even bother to spray snow on trees - it's full of green and partly yellowish deciduous trees in the wide shots. In the front of Wyatt's house there are a lot of green deciduous bushes. Also, digital snowing only happened every night and never on day.
