- Police inspector, David Martin is alerted of a murder by his co-detective Arthur Hobbs. He brings David to the murder scene and after taking several photographs of the victim, he is identified as Gregoritsch Vasilev. David discovers the murder weapon on Vasilev's corpse and takes it in for evidence. Whilst in his office, David is summoned to the office of the harsh commissioner, Hans von Kolbeit. Hans demands the suspect be found immediately. David and Arthur go to the house of distinguished lawyer Jan Blazevic, who shows signs of distress when the weapon is presented to him, David decides to take him in but he ultimately walks free. Following this setback the duo travel to John Steward's home as he was a friend of Vasilev. After talking to him, David once again decides he is the suspects and takes him in and prepares to prosecute. Following this David visits commissioner Hans who demands to know what he has. David explains he has who he believes as the murderer but no concrete proof, despite Hans's call to get more evidence, David decides to prosecute and he takes John to court. In court, David accuses John of the murder but presents no evidence. Jan Blazevic, now defending John highlights the fact there is no evidence and argues that the case should be abandoned. The judge decides that the court be adjourned until further evidence was collected. Realising that David will disprove his own theory and find him guilty, Arthur takes David to an abandoned warehouse where he confesses to David about the murders and prepares to kill him. But Han arrives just in time to shoot Arthur twice, he proclaims that David had solved the crime denoting to the proof David had sent Hans proving Arthur's guilt.
