    Warning: Spoilers
"Breakbound" tells the story of a young, successfull business-man, who gives up on his job perspectives and his long time girlfriend in order to follow his dream of becoming a professional surfer on a trip of two years.

What you get to see is a man pursueing his dream, unquestionably a brave decision but also one that was told many times before. You get to know the hardships of becoming a professional athlete, the difficult personal decisions you're forced to face and the surprising things you might find along the road. Since two years are pressed into just 90 minutes here, it can seem a bit superficial at times. Nontheless the film doesn't glorify the journey and shows both the success and the struggle. It's always fascinating to watch real people living theit life and so this movie is entertaining without really achieving anything great, because the story of a relatively successfull business-man leaving everything behind to become a surfer is remarkable but not as much a miracle as many other life-lines we already got to experience in the history of film.

All in all this is worth a watch if you're looking for some distraction and generally like tv-formats, where actual people are portrayed. Just don't expect it to be a blockbuster or an Oscar-documentary.
