Gonzalo celebrates Christmas with his wife Cristina and son Alonso. A Captain Rodrigo, who's accused of treason crosses paths with Cristina. She is arrested and tortured to death. Gonzalo becomes a Red Eagle to find his wife's murderers.
Alonso blames his father for his mother's death. His rebellious acts lead him into trouble. Gonzalo suffers an accident and ends up meeting the Marchioness who offers him help to find Captain Rodrigo.
Alonso falls seriously ill and his Aunt Margarita takes him home. At the Palace, the Marchioness is preparing a great party to which the King will attend. The lodge urges the Commissioner to find Captain Rodrigo.
At Gonzalo's house, Margarita reunites with Inigo, an associate of her husband with whom she was involved in many scams. Inigo threatens to hurt Alonso if he does not pay him an old debt. The child is in grave danger.
Tryouts to enter a fencing academy are held and Alonso wants to join. Gonzalo forbids him but, at the boy's insistence, decides to prepare him to fight. The fight between Nuno and Alonso causes a duel between Gonzalo and the Commissioner.
Águila Roja and Sátur follow the trail of the Lord of Alarcón. Helped by Augustine, they discover the entrance to the Lodge's hiding place. Gonzalo knows that Alonso has insisted on being his squire and follows him on his missions.
The commissioner gains the trust of Margarita, who will lead him to Gonzalo. The commissioner arrests the teacher, whom he tortures into confessing that he is "Red Eagle".
The Marchioness hires an oriental warrior to kill Red Eagle. He severely wounds the hero during a confrontation through the streets of the city. The Commissioner takes advantage of the situation to demonstrate Gonzalo's double identity.
The city is preparing to receive the King and attack him during the tour of the royal entourage. Overhearing this Catalina tells Gonzalo about it. The Commissioner increases the reward for Red Eagle who will try to protect the monarch.
A series of murders of children shakes the city. Juan, the doctor, is arrested as a suspect. However, new clues make the Commissioner and Red Eagle suspect someone else and join forces to try to stop him.
The child killer is still on the loose and the city lives in terror. Alonso is very affected after his encounter with that beast whose face he could not see. Both Águila Roja and the Commissioner tirelessly search for the culprit.
Soldiers arrest the Duke of Valois, the Lodge's candidate to be the new King. Red Eagle takes the maximum risk to be the first to locate the Duke of Valois, convinced that he is the key to finally finding his wife's murderers.
Gonzalo discovers the names of the Lodge members. Red Eagle gets one of them to confess that his wife's murderer is the Commissioner. Alonso distrusts his father's courage to avenge his mother's death and will try to act on his own.
