Note: Most of my reviews contain some spoilers, but I always try that none of them can actually spoil any important surprise in an episode or series, so you can read without worrying.

Famous episode 40: Remy is English is by far the most complex episode of the series. We see the final efforts of a character that has always been a villain trying to make some good. Its title "Remi wa igirisu jin" or "Remi is English" or "Remi es inglés" is really not descriptive of how interesting this episode is. Of course that it is important to know where Remi is actually from but there are many things more interesting in this episode.

Jerome Barberin, Remi's once adoptive father is trying to make "some coins" by helping Remi to get reunited to his real parents, nevertheless we can also notice in the character an effort to make some good for once in his lifetime (or at least once in the time that we know him as spectators of the series).

"Even Hitler liked dogs" : Most series don't take the time to remind us that even the most evil and hateful villains have a little spark of decency somewhere hidden inside their souls.

It's interesting too, as in many episodes the always-good-heart of Remi (and Mattia to an extent) feeling compassion even for this man that has done so much evil in the past.

In order of not spoiling a good moment and surprise I will only say that the letter that Remi writes to Mrs. Barberin at the end of the episode is something you must not miss... and who wouldn't shout the same that Mattia (in English pronounce Mathia or something similar) shouted the last moments that he and Remi passed with Mr. Barberin???

A great episode of a great classic!

    Thanks for reading
