Dr. Perry Cox
- Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: Good night.
- Dr. Perry Cox: [without looking up] 'Night.
- [J.D. leaves]
- Sunny: Ugh! He's finally gone. Talk about making a big deal over nothing, you know?
- [Cox stops writing, lifts his head]
- Sunny: I mean, Dr. Dorian was fine, but he was no better than any other doctor.
- Dr. Perry Cox: For the record, he was the best that ever came through this dump.
- [J.D. sneaks back into the room and stands quietly behind Dr. Cox]
- Dr. Perry Cox: John Dorian was the first and only doctor I ever met who cared as much as I do. And you can forget about him being just an exceptional physician. Because the fact of the matter is he was... he's a damn exceptional person. That's why people gravitated to him. That's why I did.
- [hesitates]
- Dr. Perry Cox: He was my friend.
- Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: Thank you, God. That was beautiful.
- Dr. Perry Cox: [dismayed] Oh, God, no...
- Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: It's okay, Perry. You just said how you feel. Honestly, I am so full of your love right now, I literally could not take another drop. Brace yourself. I'm coming in.
- [J.D. hugs Cox]
- Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: You smell like a father figure.
- Dr. Perry Cox: Please stop.
- Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: [steps back] Great job, Sunny. You said your line perfectly.
- Sunny: Oh, thanks! I worked on it.
- Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: [to Cox] I knew it would set you off. Good night, best friend.
