  • The Sheriff (Eugene Pallette) has to go to New York City to deliver a prisoner to the Governor. However, when his wife insists she also go along, he isn't very eager. Little did he know that she'd come in very handy during the trip. But who doesn't come in handy is the Sheriff's friend, Pinky, who goes along as well....and gets roaring drunk and ends up buying all sorts of worthless things. While the Sheriff is trying to straighten out this mess, the prisoner escapes!

With all the craziness going on during the story, you'd think the film would be funnier. Now this isn't to say it's not worth watching...but it's not nearly as funny nor enjoyable as it should be. Also, you can tell this is a Pre-Code film since one of the characters appears to be gay, or at least very effeminate....something they simply wouldn't have allowed in Production Code films from 1934 until more recently.
