Max Wall, Larry Adler, and the irrepressible Tommy Trinder (who tends to dominate proceedings) discuss various variety acts from the Coronation year, including the Human Billiard Table, Florence Desmond doing an impression of Greta Garbo and "The Ganjou brothers and Juanita", three Eastern Europeans who throw around an elegant young lady with great panache. The programme closes with a 'spontaneous' (the illusion undermined, inevitably, by Tommy Trinder's knowing gags) performance on mouth-organ and guitar by Larry Adler and Max Wall.
All three performers are in great form, and while the archive footage is interesting, the studio wisecracks are equally entertaining -- unsurprising with, as Tommy points out, 160 years' worth of experience between them!
