Chloe is unhappy that Ryder didn't inform her of Mackenzie's plans. Despite words from Alf and Dean and a serve from Mia, Mackenzie is unrepentant, although she does regret trying to get Ryder to sack his girlfriend. Leah is spending all her time tracking down information about Susie and neglecting Justin, who is becoming increasingly reliant on his painkillers. Roo gets the competition entry details from Dean, with Justin signing up. When Mackenzie refuses to reinstate Chloe, Ryder resigns.—skteosk

Ryder's efforts to show solidarity with fired Chloe, who keep blaming him irrationally, failing to convince Mac, who only apologizing for having asked him to do the firing because she ignored the rivals having become lovers, she can't fire Chloe for her love each with Ari, leads Ryder to resign, only to find Chloe can't appreciate that either.
