I attended the opening night of Goodbye Promise at The Downtown Independent. David Branin is a gifted director, bringing out the best in actors who give authentic performances on par with Hollywood films' star actors and big budgets. The film is a beautifully woven tale of melancholy, pain and disappointment but offers natural humor from its supporting cast to lighten things up. The story is capped off by a beautiful moment toward the end between main actor Gregor Collins and actress Sarah Prikryl. What I think is one of the bigger accomplishments of this film is that the large majority was improvised and it evolved and works as a full length feature film. I look forward to seeing more of what this team does and where they take us next.
