Sex & Nudity

None
28 of 41 found this to have none
A man is seen fully naked, floating in water. Camera angles strategically avoid showing any private areas, and his buttocks and genitals are kept off camera. All that is seen is the side of his body and his bare chest. The scene isn't sexual.

Violence & Gore

Moderate
34 of 41 found this moderate
Violence is similar to the previous game, at times there are brief (but missable) spurts of blood during combat, not graphic.
A feature was added where both Peter and Miles can take fall damage, if they land from a great height there will be a brief glimpse of blood as they land, this feature however can be disabled.
When Peter has the symbiote his abilities and attacks are a lot more brutal. Small amounts of blood can be scene but there are loud crushing and smashing sound effects when you take down your enemies.
When using the symbiote surge ability. Almost every attack is more brutal. Every few attacks your will execute a brutal finisher that either smashes enemies into the ground, breaks their ribs, or takes them out.
While fighting venom, one of his attacks allows him to pick up one of the spiderman and bite their shoulder (no blood).
Some moments in this game show quite a bit of blood on contexts of villains killing people. This includes blood spurts, splatters and at one point a scenes where decapitation is depicted.
Unlike the first game, blood does not spray when an enemy is shot in crossfire during combat. This was to appeal to the Teen rating with the pre-existing bloody imagery in cutscenes.
The games violence is tame and much like other superhero games except for one very violent mission where, as a villain, you are able to mercilessly slaughter innocents defending themselves with pretty brutal takedowns, and at the end of the mission a man's head is depicted getting bitten off with splattering and gushing blood pooling on the ground, but no visible gore.
The side quests called "The Flame" are quite dark, as they involve cultists planning to bomb Brooklyn. There is one bloody scene where a man is hacked in his side with a scythe splashing blood. There is also a scene where a man pours gasoline all over a hero and then throws a lighter into it, lighting him on fire, but he is saved with minimal injury.
Level of violence: 7/10. Strong violence.

Profanity

Mild
23 of 28 found this mild
"hell" and "damn" are said often throughout. There are some uses of "ass" and "prick" but unlike the previous two games, there are no uses of "shit".
There are no uses of the f word.
Mild language thorough. Nothing to be worried about.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Mild
18 of 30 found this mild
Drug deals are shown with packaged drugs including cocaine. Powder can be seen in containers being passed around and as Spider-Man you can stop the drug deal by beating down the thugs.
Some smoking and drinking seen throughout the city and briefly in cutscenes. Very easy to miss.
During the mission where you (playing as peter) undercover as a waiter delivering food for karavens bodyguard there is alcohol on one of the other waiters plate.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Severe
29 of 54 found this severe
Venom is a very frightening and intimidating villain, his appearance will frighten younger audiences.
Lots of the encounters with the symbiote and lizard can be frightening for younger viewers.
Peter being aggressive to his friends while in the venom suit will definitely make some people uncomfortable since Peter has always been a nice guy, but venom makes him evil.
Other than the games occasionally intense violence and frightening images, the game has extremely positive and inspirational themes. Missions often depict you saving the injured, helping the elderly and fighting for the greater good. There are themes of cherishing your loved ones, healing the world, being a hero and taking advantage of life while you can.
Much darker, gorier and more intense than its predecessor, which was pretty dark compared to other Spider-Man media to begin with.
Venom and the Symbiote enemies in the nets might be terrifiing to younger viewers.
Game is surprisingly not very scary or frightening, but instead dark and dreary.
If this game were to be rated by the MPA it would be PG-13 for extended sequences of violence and action, including frightening images, some drug use and language.
Darkest spider man game made so far.
