  • It is very rare that a short film of 17 minutes manages to tell so much about a person. This one does that. The person being vocalist and later actress Monica Zetterlund. The Nordic voice of jazz and ballad that enchanted the music world in the 1960's and 70's. In this short Monica is only 25. Living by herself in a Stockholm suburb. Her life consists of concerts, shows, television, radio, and recordings. At the time in 1962, she had a new album out. Her second, called "Ahh! Monica". The song "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" by Fred E. Ahlert, was interpreted in Swedish by Beppe Wolgers and became "Sakta vi gå genom stan". One of Monica's greatest hits. In the short Monica is being interviewed by writer and director Vilgot Sjöman. The director Jörn Donner presents notes with questions about her life and feelings. She responds sincerely. Yes, it is in Swedish without subtitles. Maybe you get it somehow still. The cinematography by Gunnar Fisher is excellent.
