With nothing more than a blazing spirit of philanthropy and his beat-up red wagon, Zach sets out to help homeless children in America. In the process, he sweeps his fractured family - and ultimately the entire country - along with him.
The Florida Highway Patrol car toward the end of the movie was pretty close to Florida's real FHP cars with the exception of the following. Front grille. They don't have all red blinking lights in the fog light area and the State FHP seal on the doors were wrong color. Also the rear plates were white where as Florida's State tax exempt plates are all yellow. The guy driving the car also did not have a Florida State Trooper uniform. The film was shot in North Carolina. Also although Zach's mom walks the entire length of the route with her son in the hot summer of "Florida" she never breaks sweat through her blouse until the very end. Highly unlikely she stay that cool in near 90 degree temps walking 300 miles.
Mom said to come to breakfast.
Zach Bonner: She make biscuits?
Kelley Bonner: Yeah. She thinks she can buy me with biscuits.
Zach Bonner: Well, it works for me.
