I tend not to enjoy Canadian reboots, but was pleasantly surprised to find this absolute masterpiece of a film. The character names were excellent and the fake mustaches clearly delineated between the present and the 10-minute flashbacks. The actor playing Robocop walked like a tiny old man trying to go down an escalator without his pants falling down, which I found relatable and comforting. My main complaint was a lack of character development (and screen time) for Bone Machine.
Giving such an important role as ace reporter PJ Flinders to a relatively unknown actress was a bold choice. Flinders served as the emotional fulcrum upon which so many character arcs rely. I'm pleased to report (wink) that whoever that lady is knocked it out of the park! Every time PJ Flinders is on the screen you can't take your eyes off of her because she's in front of a green screen with nobody else in the shot.
The awesome TNT power of The Bombs was somewhat underwhelming, but I can't wait to see if they come roaring back with increased TNT power in subsequent episodes.
