  • We were running low on movies to watch, so we recorded and watched Cnduct Unbecoming because Michael Ironside was in it and because of the plot which seemed interesting. The story evolves around a military court martial of a Marine Captain who lost 4 men in an incident in Afghanistan in which a number of civilian casualties were also incurred. The romance was somewhat hard to believe but the story overall was excellent, captivating and enjoyable to watch

My son's in the Canadian military, so as his mom I've seen almost every military movie out there whether I wanted to or not because that's what we watched on movie nights ever since he was a kid. I've seen some incredible war movies and miniseries that made me embrace the genre. Eventually.

Conduct Unbecoming wasn't my kid's cup of tea so I watched it myself; he was busy. This was different because it wasn't Hollywood. It wasn't special effects or any effects. To me this made the characters more vulnerable. It was regular and poignant and sad and believable. I was invested in their justice and happiness. Right to the end of the movie.

It's probably been ten years since I saw it but I haven't forgotten it because I hope to God I never have to get that call. It's a scene done so well I won't ever forget it.
