Fenrir, the name of the vodka company owned by Agnetha, is also the name of the wolf that will consume Odin during Ragnarok, the Norse apocalypse.
Dean O'Gorman (Anders), Keisha Castle-Hughes (Gaia), Alison Bruce (Agentha), Rachel Nash (Ingrid), Michelle Langstone (Michele) and Brooke Williams (Eva) all had played a minor character in various episodes of The Legend of the Seeker. Both The Legend of the Seeker and The Almighty Johnsons are located in New Zealand; The Legend of the Seeker filmed there and The Almighty Johnsons story takes place there.
Both Dean O'Gorman (Anders) and Michael Hurst (Kvasir) have portrayed incarnations of the character Iolaus, Hurst as the adult Iolaus in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995), and O'Gorman as a young Iolaus in Young Hercules (1998).
In the series, Axl Johnson and his family discover they are reincarnations of Norse gods. The series premiered the same year the Marvel comic book film Thor (2011) was released and the series ended the same year as the release of Thor: The Dark World (2013). The films were based on Norse mythology.
