  • Apart from the heart interest which develops as the story proceeds, this film will be attractive because it represents an accurate reproduction of a Hudson Bay trading post, something sufficiently out of the ordinary to excite more than the ordinary degree of interest. The love story is intensified by the fact that the factor at the post is seized by the tribe, on the testimony of a half-breed, and tortured before burning at the stake. He is rescued by the Indian girl and the half-breed is punished by the tribe for the affront he has put upon them. The dramatic heart story and the novel surroundings, developing a setting of unusual interest, combine to make a film as attractive as it is strange. - The Moving Picture World, June 4, 1910
