    Warning: Spoilers
Does it make sense to get such a big family together for a vacation? The creators of this winning series seem to be clear about it because of the possibilities and situations a big outing like this will do for the program. Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is the perfect spot for these urbanites to spend quality time.

Mitch and Cam are exploring ways to adopt a boy. This time they will go "domestic", hopefully with an American son. Mitch has to "butch" up if he wants to be a good example to the son he hopes to get. His time at the shooting range is hysterical.

Phil, having felt never accepted by Jay to be Claire's husband has an opportunity to talk things over with his father-in-law, a man that proves he was not born to be a cowboy. Dylan, who is Hailey's boyfriend has decided to take the occasion to propose to her in front of a surprised family. Claire is taken aback by the boldness of Dylan.

Gloria makes a splash with a pair of jeans where all her curves are clearly seen. Hank, the local ranch hand in charge of the guests cannot help but feel the curves that are clearly for him to see only. Alex Dunphy gets her first kiss from an unexpected source, a boy that had made a nuisance out of himself.

A good opener for the 2011 season. Jason Winer directed. The episode was written by Paul Corrigan, Brad Walsh and Dan O'Shannon. The scenic Wyoming setting serves the action well. The large cast does their usual best. Tim Blake Nelson is the guest star.

I was very surprised and pleased to see all our characters and story to mature in a great manner. Phil talks seriously with jay, Claire gets more anxiety, Luke gets more grown up, cam becomes more funny,Mitch gets more girly, Hailey becomes a woman, and of course lily starts talking(the more the funnier). I'm a 14 year-old from India and got all these episodes form my uncle in the us. i kinda have a crush on Alex or Ariel winter and greatly find her beautiful. I think her reaction towards her first kiss was true, but did not like the character of that guy. he was also kinda fat...anyway, greatly appreciate for this show as it greatly entertains me. i would love to be a part of a family like this. by the way, my favorite character is and always will be Ty Burrell 's.
  • I am a fan of the show and consider its success is due mainly to the consistently sharp writing. This episode is mostly filmed outdoors and relies almost completely on sight gags. I think the humour suffers for it and hope they stay at home and in the studio from now on. I can understand the producers desire to do something different but for the first time I rarely laughed and the episode felt like generic TV sit-com which floods the stream-waves these days.
