In the mid 1990s Cuba was seemingly frozen in time but, in fact, it was going through profound changes. Young people were eagerly searching for something else and embraced a new musical movement that was spreading across the island. Its leader was Kandyman and the music, reggaeton.—Anonymous

Over the course of just a few months at the start of the of the 21st century, the musician Kandyman's disruptive sound took Cuba by assault. He then suddenly disappeared, not without first having altered the cultural landscape of one of the music epicenters of the world.
